At what point did the topic turn to Romo vs Stafford??

Stay on track. Nobody was comparing the two. At any point.

This is a Lions board...just pointing out that a QB that is a "stat junkie" is a far superior QB to the one the Lions employ. Seems like a fair point on a Lions board!

As far as building the OL...I 100% agree on that. Of course it took the Cowboys about 6-7 years to build what they have. I think every starter is a first round draft pick.

And I believe Stafford is just slightly better than you think he is. I will also go as far as to say I know the numbers back your evaluation more than they do mine.

I just think Stafford has been the subject of some pretty bad coaching and was brought in to a minor league football team in '09. Guys on here rip on Stafford for two playoff appearances in 6 years......but how many guys would have gotten that '09 or '10 team to the playoffs?? I don't think even Rodgers would have. They were historically void of talent besides #81. Just really, REALLY bad.

So to me......I think he's a good qb.......certainly not great......but still has the ability to be great. He's not even 27 yet (2 days to go......just looked it up). I think his best years are ahead of him.

Or, maybe he's Dontrelle Willis.........guess we'll see!!

He has the arm strength but I have seen nothing else in him that makes me feel he can take it to the next level. To me he is like a flashy SS in baseball. He will make a great play but then he boots a routine ground ball and later in the game he makes the routine play but throws the ball into the dirt. He is just WAY too inconsistent for my liking.

We'll see...he does have age on his side.

Unfortunately, 2013 he didn't use it to his advantage. He was a pure short/check down passer. Mostly because his accuracy is horrible on deep passes..teams play up, makes it harder on himself. Going to be 27 in two days, it's not going to be on his side for long.

Honestly, I wanted Gilbert or Denard.

I still think Van Noy could be a really good OLB.....I was really happy with that pick last year.

I think Malcom Brown should be the pick this year.....followed by the best available OL.....unless we get 2 really good OL Free Agents.

If we do.....#3 WR, #2 CB, S, RB and DE all need upgraded depth or immediate help.

The one thing that makes me think he won't be here is he hasn't shown he wants to be. At least I haven't seen it.

That would be nice......would let us focus on OL in FA and the draft. We need to add two good starters at LG and RT......let Swanson develop and I think we'll be set.

#3 WR and RB would be it for the O

DE, CB and S for the D.

I love our LB's.....I think we might have the best set of LB's in football except SF......who is so stacked with talent its a joke. Bowman, Willis and Aldon Smith......c'mon!?!?!?

Stafford is a very good QB. Caldwell said himself he is underrated. He knows more than anyone on a message board easily. I'll stick with the game tape and the experts.
