Suh suitors

Outside of their conference opponents they have Rams, Seattle, SD, NO on the road (KC Neutral site)

Of the 7 road games the only "big games" are Seattle & GB. Maybe the Saints if they pull their heads out of their asses next year. Well...SD might be above .500 too.

If Bradford stays healthy or the Rams can find a QB they will be above .500. That will be a tough one.

true...teams can be very different from year to year with good drafts / free agent pick ups. @ Seattle, SF & AZ at home could all be losses too.

With just a uneducated glance at next years schedule...If we are going to go to back to back playoffs for the first time since the Beanie Baby era, Stafford's road record against winning teams is going to have to change. I think John Fox in Chicago is scary too.

Not worried about Chicago just yet. That team is OLD and without any real depth. They have a few decent players, but guys like Marshall, Allen and Forte aren't getting any younger. Forte was under his career averages in yards per carry and yards per reception. He is about to hit the magic age of 30. Marshall just turned 30 and had a down year. Cuntler was TERRIBLE last year under a "QB guru" and a pass happy offense. Secondary is bad. LB's are too.

I don't think Chicago is a threat in 2015.

No one's getting any younger, unless we live in one of those bizarro worlds. I can say the same thing about Calvin, Bush, etc...

Wow, expressions go right over your head, don't they??

Good job, captain obvious.

Nah, I just hate hearing that expression, it's played out and applies to every team.

I think the point of it went over your head.

They are getting older and their seasons indicate they might be losing a step.

Oh, wait....that's another expression......do you need a translation?

And that's my point, every team loses a step in one way or another. It's not fair to say "The Bears are getting older," when there are guys on the Lions who will be losing a step as well due to the passage of time. For the most part, it all cancels out, unless they are fielding a team of entirely veterans.

What happens with the O and D lines this off season will determine the 2015 season....IMO.

Addressing the secondary, 3rd WR, RB and backup QB (or developmental QB) are all upgrades that could be made.....certainly.....but if that's all we do and ignore the lines.....this team will fall back in '15.

Minnesota and Dallas are fantastic examples of how a good O-line can make a massive difference in a season.

Minnesota actually ran the ball BETTER in 2014 without AP. BETTER!!!! With McKinnon and Asiata. Why?

O-line.

I think Dallas is the model Detroit should follow offensively. They have a good, though overrated QB, a great WR, and a couple other playmakers on O. But as soon as the line became great....so did the offense......and the team.

Same in Detroit. Talent is there, but I think the line is holding them back from being really good or even great.

You have me until you said Romo is overrated. No one puts him in the Brady/Manning area but he's in the next tier..no doubt.

I don't want an argument here but the statement, and it's said a lot, "talent is there." It's been said for 3 or 4 years now. RB, OL, QB - all sad. Bell is decent enough but as a group the talent hasn't been there. And we still need a good CB. 11 wins against mostly sub par teams shows the talent is not there.

agree the oline should be the key....dline too. we need to get better in the trenches for sure.

Ill also have to credit you on your previous post about the aging veterans like KVB Burleson Peterman and now Tulloch....atleast you were trying to be realistic. We still overpaid them for too long....but atleast you tried....ill give you credit when you try lol.

We didn't over pay at the time. All worth what they signed for. We didn't even pay out the full contract. They were cut before we overpaid.

The last 2 years of most contracts are just fluff usually. 2010, 2011 we got good stuff from KVB. Same with Tulloch from 2011-2013.

We signed Peterman in 2009 when we couldnt' attract a FA to save our life.

He is a .500 QB unless he has the best OL, RB in football.....with a top 5 WR, a HOF TE and a good #2 and #3 WR.

That's all he has proven.

Two Wild Card Weekend playoff wins......one controversial.....in 9 years does not put him in that next tier....IMO.

He's a stat junkie that chokes in big moments......time and time again.

Look, EVERYONE knows that everyone gets older year after year......but my point is that it effects everyone differently. That's why I pointed out a few guys that have seemed to decline greatly over the last year or so.

Allen - 5.5 sacks
Marshall - 700 yards
Forte - still a good season, but career lows in yards per attempt and yards per reception

As for your mention of Bush and CJ

Bush is done.......I think everyone on this board agrees with that.

Calvin put up nearly 1100 yards and 8 TD in 11 games (yes, I know he played 13......but we all know he didnt actually play in 2 of those). When he is healthy.....he is still an elite WR....probably still the best in the NFL.

If everyone in the NFL "aged" at the same rate.....we would know exactly what to expect from every player based just on their age. But that's not the case. So while what you're saying is true......it also isn't.

Stat junkie? That's all I heard about Matt from 2011-2013. And I always here "talent s there." Apparently not or Matt would be putting up like Romo.

He has 2 playoff wins the last two times they've been to the playoffs. How is that choking..Only 2 other times he reached the playoffs, his rook season in '06, he had a nice game. '07, he didn't. So how is he choking all these playoff games now. One choke against Philly and suddenly that's all people remember..

In his career he has completed 65.2% of his passes, 7.9 YPA and has a TD:INT ratio of 2.2:1

Compared to Stafford...59.6%, 7.01 YPA 1.54:1

Romo >>>>Stafford and it really isn't close.

4 playoff appearance in 9 years

2-4 record

It's not just playoff games he chokes in......0-2 in win and in scenarios in '11-'12 on the last day of the season.

Epic collapses against detroit 2X in the regular season.....ect.....ect.....ect.....

The Cowboys were 4-6 in the final-month games finished by Romo since 2010. As far as my personal ?choke or no choke? tally, I have it 3-4-1: three chokes (I?m including the Steelers game Dallas won), four non-chokes, and one unclear.

-Peter King

The guy is just not a big game QB.

He's like 8 times better than our guy so if the "talent's there." Why aren't we winning playoff games?

At what point did the topic turn to Romo vs Stafford??

Stay on track. Nobody was comparing the two. At any point.

Fuck, you guys are so fixated on Matthew Stafford its comical.

"Oh Yeah, well Matt didn't do this.....Stafford didn't do that......waaaaaaaaaah waaaaaaaaah waaaaaaaaaah!!!

It's not even part of the fuckin topic....but you Stafford haters make it happen!!!!

You opened it up, "talent is there." Where? If we're so talented why aren't we winning playoff games? Then you keep saying Romo has elite talent around him..1+1 equals 2.
