Suh suitors

Tagging him is stupidity. And there's no guarantee he signs long term or did you not notice the last year in which no deal was done. Continue with the insults just means you're clueless. 27m, lol.

Nah, you're the dummy. You franchise him KNOWING that you can work out a deal with him. You don't let him walk. You let him walk if he tells you he's not interested...

Bobby Wagner too. Seattle has too much to do resigning their own players.

And you can BET Bobby Wagner's agent will argue that the guy actually got MVP consideration because Dungy voted for him.

Agents are the kings of arguing stuff like that. Forget that he only played in 11 games, missing 1/3rd of the season. He got a single vote for MVP, so he was a "candidate".

His paycheck just got big.

Like LKP arguing that Stafford is elite because he made the pro bowl!

So thooooooose are the problems you have when you draft well.....no wonder why mayhew doesn't want to draft well.

We are talking about re-signing Suh. And having money for Levy, Reiff, Ansah, Slay down the line on top of Calvin/Stafford making big money. All drafted by Detroit. We have the same problems as Seattle. We drafted well and need to keep these people along with other great free agents like Tate and Quin.

The cuts will be the guys we don't need, Bush, Tulloch and Jones. Free agents that served their short term purpose (some very well like Tulloch) but now we move on to drafted guys like Riddick, Whithead etc. The Burleson, KVB, Petermans of the world did well early and then later in the contract we properly dumped them. Although KVB/Peterman a year too late. Burleson took a pay cut to stay.

And one guy we tried long term with the franchise is now a Seattle guy. Avril. He had one bad year since 2011, go figure, the franchise year (2012).

actually, the difference is being 5-1 in the playoffs in 2 years vs. 0-1

Home field will help that. Lions with all home playoff games can get 2 wins. In fact they proved they can beat GB at home. Carolina I think we could have beat too despite our road loss. One regular season game was the difference. 11-5 is a very good season.

Home field is not going to happen with GB in our division. It just isnt.

says who? we almost did last year, or should have if we only made one of the missed FG in the Buffalo game, we would have had home field despite losing in GB. to say it's not going to happen is very naive.

it could happen...but as long as they have AR and the Lions have Stafford...GB has the edge in the division.

Bills game actually didn't matter. We needed to win one more NFC game. Arizona or Panthers.

But agreed, we were pretty close. We have a better defense, our offense can get better with experience and Oline help/health.

Both teams start from scratch again. We'll see how much changes with free agency additions/losses and the draft.

agree the oline should be the key....dline too. we need to get better in the trenches for sure.

Ill also have to credit you on your previous post about the aging veterans like KVB Burleson Peterman and now Tulloch....atleast you were trying to be realistic. We still overpaid them for too long....but atleast you tried....ill give you credit when you try lol.

While your statement is true.....you could make the exact same statement for every QB in the NFL except Brady. Manning and Luck included.

Lions NEED to win in GB in '15. If nothing else, it would be a massive mental boost. If they can win in GB.....there really isn't anywhere they cant.

I was mainly stating that because they are in the same division. If they can't jump GB with Rodgers they will almost always be playing playoff games on the road...and we know what kind of success Stafford has on the road!

What happens with the O and D lines this off season will determine the 2015 season....IMO.

Addressing the secondary, 3rd WR, RB and backup QB (or developmental QB) are all upgrades that could be made.....certainly.....but if that's all we do and ignore the lines.....this team will fall back in '15.

Minnesota and Dallas are fantastic examples of how a good O-line can make a massive difference in a season.

Minnesota actually ran the ball BETTER in 2014 without AP. BETTER!!!! With McKinnon and Asiata. Why?

O-line.

I think Dallas is the model Detroit should follow offensively. They have a good, though overrated QB, a great WR, and a couple other playmakers on O. But as soon as the line became great....so did the offense......and the team.

Same in Detroit. Talent is there, but I think the line is holding them back from being really good or even great.

Agreed.

I will add this, though. This team.....built primarily on a strong D....is much better suited to winning on the road in the NFL than any team Stafford has had before.

Just a prediction....but I think you'll see Stafford and the Lions start to win some road games in 2015. Some "big" road games.

But I would prefer to play any possible playoff games in Ford Field, too!!!

Outside of their conference opponents they have Rams, Seattle, SD, NO on the road (KC Neutral site)

Of the 7 road games the only "big games" are Seattle & GB. Maybe the Saints if they pull their heads out of their asses next year. Well...SD might be above .500 too.
