The FIX is in!!!

Nonetheless, I understand where Ink is coming from but when it comes to our QB its way past the time to put up and go away..6 years, 4th without missing games..and his best was 4 years ago. Right or wrong I think I'm more fed up because he makes so much damn money.. And it's those damn road games. If we're going to have a somewhat game manager, get one that's cheap as hell. 20 TD with 6 INT will work. I almost rather have 2012 Matt.

I think when people accept the fact that he's an average to above average quarterback with a great arm, these seasons will be easier to swallow. Don't expect greatness out of him. He's had plenty of time to show he's elite, and he's not.

But playoffs two of last four years. It's not time to go away yet.

then the Stafford homers that say its because of :

no oline
no run game
no weapons
no defense
no coaching

will then go to a different thread and back mayhew lmao. My fucking god this organization has you guys so fucking confused. How could you possibly list all those reasons why Stafford fails then say mayhew does a good job lmao...its comical.

Ink, if we use that criteria that he needs to have a great offensive line, super play calling, and all the weapons are clicking, he'll never be able to be judged. I'm pretty sure that not every great quarterback has perfect pieces around them.

The Lions have to cover up his deficiencies by continuing to draft for him. From year 1 to now, you cannot say he has progressively gotten better. His decision making still sucks, he can't move, and his inaccuracy is mind boggling sometimes. No doubt he makes throws that only a few others can. But those moments are few and far between.

No one is saying everything has to fire on all cylinders, but how can you possibly judge a guy who was pressured more than any other QB in the league behind an offensive line that was being bandaged together every week?

He was the 4th most sacked QB in the league, tied with Alex Smith and behind Bortles, Kaepernick, and Tannehill, all of whom had lousy seasons.

A year ago people on this board would have gladly traded Stafford for Kaepernick, and many of you even commented to that. This year, he's a train wreck, and his sack numbers go through the roof?

Coincidence? No. When QBs don't have time to throw, they have down years. Most QBs that get a new head coach and a new offensive coordinator, with a new offensive system to go with it, struggle.

Stafford had BOTH problems this year. New coaches and system...and an offensive line that couldn't keep people out of his face.

And this is the season that you want to call it "put up or shut up"? That's just beyond silly.

In no way am I saying Stafford is elite. I am not even saying he will be elite. I don't even know if he can be elite.

But he had a ton working against him this season, and still made the playoffs.

Tannehill, lousy season? 66% completion. 27 TD's to 12 INT. 92.8 rating. How is that lousy.

Okay, I'll give you Tannehill. But, according to this thread, good QBs make their teams better, and the Dolphins finished 8-8. So by that logic, isn't he automatically not a good QB?

Some QB do and some don't. We all have different opinions its not gospel. In any event, Matt was not good in '14 regardless of the playoffs..

right...also, Tannehill and Kaepernick had everything going for them? Heck...Kaepernick even had a higher completion percentage, similar TD-INT ratio, yards per attempt plus he had almost 650 yards rushing.

I think it's more realistic to look at sack rate. Which is much closer to the middle of the pack for Stafford. Obviously throwing more gives you more of a chance to be sacked, so that's why I feel rate is much better to judge on.

Now there is no doubt the O-line struggled the 1st quarter of the season, 15 through 4 games. Nearly 4 a game. 30 final 12 games, or 2.5 a game. The league average is 2.36 for 2014, so again nearly average for 75% of the season.

Now it's fair to say QB is partly responsible for sacks. The top 4 are QBs that run, hold onto the ball, Rookie and stafford. Coincidence? I think not, they are all questionable QBs.

The most important factor in an offensive line is continuity. They never had the same five guys there from week to week.

Yes, it's dire. Stafford didn't have any time to work this season. He took an extreme number of hits and sacks. Yeah, it was dire.

Andrew luck had 11 different starting oline combinations this year. Hes still playing and beating the broncos late in the game in the 2nd rd of the playoffs....hes not complaining about oline injuries.

Luck was sacked hit or pressured 71 times in the regular season, tops in the league. The next highest total was Big Ben at 26.

That stat is 100% false.

the fact his offense line sucks isn't false....he manipulates the pocket to give himself time. Happy feet Stafford sits there and gets creamed.
