The official combine thread

Work ethic with Sam?

ya...remember they put his name on the list of the trainers door. That don't bother coming to ask us about him cause he doesn't work out hard enough...or something to that tune. I thought it was a joke lol.

Lane Johnson 4.75. Not that 40 times mean much for OL but damn these are some athletic big men. If you go to Johnson's NFL combine page it reads: comparison: Reilly Reiff.

Kyle Long 4.93 Howie's son, raw athlete.

Vintson Painter 4.87

I think as the nfl goes more pistol/zone read these athletic guards and tackles will be a hot commodity.

Yeah definitely.

That Armstead guy is testing off the charts 31 rep bench and official 4.7 forty. Not sure where he was/is expected to go in the draft.

Lane Johnson is a super stud as well 6'6 305 35 inch reach 4.72 forty 32 rep bench.

KR can be had late in the draft. I would rather have Ace Sanders in the 5th or 6th than Austin in the 2nd. Just my opinion though.

Ace measured in at 5'7". I would prefer someone with more height. I like Marcus Davis in the later rounds.

If you knew who he was this wouldn't have shocked you. Everyone knew he was that short. What difference does height make for a kick returner anyways?

Vance McDonald TE from Rice 6'4 270
played slot wr for Rice.

4.69 forty
31 rep bench
33 inch vert

Jarvis Jones - LB - Player Georgia OLB Jarvis Jones' spinal injury, specifically, is a narrowing of his spine between the C4 and C5 vertebrae.
Jones received clearance from "a couple spine specialists" after a stinger injury led to his stenosis diagnosis at USC. Trojans doctors wouldn't clear him to play, but he got that from Georgia and "practiced every day, never had any symptoms." Jones played in 26-of-28 games the past two seasons. Draft insider Tony Pauline reported Saturday night that Jones remains privately "resigned" to a Da'Quan Bowers-like draft-day plunge as "multiple teams" have removed him from their boards.

people from lsu are dumb...

Sam Montgomery - DL - Player In his Combine media interview, LSU DE Sam Montgomery admitted to betting in college and taking games -- not plays -- games off when the Tigers faced lesser opponents.
Montgomery's agent should have advised him before the Combine that saying things like this is not smart. At all. "Some weeks when we didn’t have to play the harder teams, there were some times when effort was not needed," Montgomery said. "But when we had the big boys coming in, the ‘Bamas or the South Carolinas, I grabbed close to those guys and went all out." Montgomery detailed "hundreds of dollars" in bets with teammate Barkevious Mingo, including one for $5,000 on which LSU defensive end will be drafted higher. We'd wager -- heavily -- that it won't be Montgomery. Draft insider Tony Pauline reported late Saturday that LSU's coaching staff has been "slamming" Montgomery to NFL teams.
