The Official MSU vs ][V][ichigan Game Thread

It was Jake Ryan with the spear. Not the worst thing that ever happened, but pretty srupid when you're 3-4.

It's a rivalry, I don't think the spear had as much to do with the animosity as much as the shit talking from UM players, sure both teams talked, but UM did a heck of a lot of talking for a bad team.

MD and MSU are just looking for anything like this to provide more motivation. I'm sure he'll juice this incident for a few years.

This. It's MD's M.O.

It wouldn't surprise me a bit if he were doing this purposely......for the underclassmen coming back next year.

If shit like painting the block M and the spear didn't happen......what kind of rivalry would it be? Michigan whines like little girls when they lose......just like Sparties do.

Aside from the whole Superior University thing, right Sbee??

Oh shit, my bad. I didn't realize that was you Booger.

It's a sports forum and we're talking about a football game.

Yes, U of M is a better institution, academically........nobody disputes that. There, do you feel better about the ass rape your #1 Public University just got?

Again what the hell are MSU fans so upset about :/

It's a big misunderstanding. Gardner and Morris were discussing the turf before the game.

MORRIS: Devin, have you run on this grass! It's amazing! Doesn't give at all when you plant your foot. Better than field turf.

GARDNER: Well, that's just MSU's excellent horticulture department. The secret is in the root density. Here, I'll show you. Hand me my spade.

HOKE: What are you guys doing? Wait! Don't tell me. I don't want to know. I mean, I'm already kind of aware, but I don't want to be any more aware than I already am.

It was mostly johnny flipping out about the spear incident a few pages back. Don't know why; if I were an MSU player or fan, the most I would feel is amusement over such a pathetic display by an inferior team.

Yeah, who's upset? Just pointed out what Dantonio meant in his presser. He hates UM, I hate UM, it's not over, it's just beginning.

Was an ass whooping today, probably more physically dominating than last year. Cook had a terrible game accuracy wise or it would have been a 40 point blowout, but the physical mismatch on the lines was extremely evident. I think we'll have to play much better in 2 weeks to beat Ohio Stae, but this team is improving and the defense definitely is improving by leaps and bounds.

Good win.

Michigan just has to hope the next coach can turn it around quicklu because the Spartans have owned the stated for nearly a decade and that's all any young people remember.

Well done sir.

You sounded upset when you first brought the incident up, or was someone else pretending to be you?

Anyway, it was a good win only on our side because it should accelerate Hoke's firing. Whether or not someone better can be brought in remains to be seen. At this point I'm not holding my breath, given what a clusterfuck this program has been most of the last 7 years.

Joe bolden or frank Clark; someone here said Jake Ryan. Hoke quote from Twitter- heard it was "Joe"

Whoever it was, I still don't get why it was done. Some will say rivalry, blah blah blah. It's still a stupid stunt, though.

There's a picture on MGoBlog of Bolden holding a spike in the air (like a railroad spike). People are facing him. It looks like he's trying to do some sort of motivational thing. People trying to make something out of nothing.

I understand how planting a flag is an insult. You're claiming their turf as your own. But this? Someone needs to explain the insult to me. You can roll your eyes at the use of motivational props, but I don't see the disrespect Dantonio is claiming.

Edit: correction, Cook is claiming. But since he says it was the motivation for that last score, it seems Dantonio agrees.
Connor Cook was clear, last TD was because MSU felt disrespected before game. Said a UM player stuck a spear in field before game
