The Stafford Slide

I for 1 like UMrules posts....nice to have a realistic point of view around here. but ur kidding yourself if u think were bothered or trying to argue with lkp. u shouldn't either....enjoy it as some form of entertainment....think of it as the wwe of the board. meaningless, none of it is real....but we can all watch and laugh.

I can't believe what I'm hearing listening to ESPN radio (only thing that interests me in the morning). They don't think Dom should be suspended for a game, they are going as far as justifying it.

Unreal.

Exactly! I've had him on ignore for months and it's been great. If I'm in the mood to laugh at/respond to nonsense, I click the "view this post" button. Otherwise, I don't see it.

Ignore me all you want. You'll be dead wrong when the Lions are 11-5 and make the playoffs. Number 1 defense. This offense will explode these next 5 weeks. Bring on the shit defenses.

The only thing funnier than this is your prediction two weeks ago that with CJ back the lions will explode the final 7 weeks.
0 TDs since that bold prediction.

Pathetic act, come up with new stuff. It's been awhile since you made up a new stat. Step up your game.

That's what we need a new LKP stat. That could get us through the offseason.

Well its not like we are not all rooting for the offense to explode. I sure hope it happens soon... But the offense with Matt , Joe and Scott last year has really only been good in few games since early last season.. Something is wrong for sure..

The Lions took plays out of the playbook prior to the NE game. To me that says Stafford can't handle the new offense...probably too complex for him.

From NFL.COM

The Detroit Lions' offense stinks.

(I'd be more flamboyant with my language in that sentence, but my editor advised against it.)

The Lions rank 26th in scoring (18.8 points per game), haven't scored more than 24 points since Week 1 and in their three losses have a combined 27 points. Detroit's nine consecutive games south of 25 points is the second-longest active streak, ahead of only the Jacksonville Jaguars (13).

The Lions are the only team ranked in the bottom 10 in scoring with a winning record (thank the NFL's No. 1 defense).

Detroit is scoring on just 28.6 percent of offensive drives, 27th in the NFL. Joe Lombardi's group is scoring an average of just 1.9 offensive touchdowns per game this season, almost one fewer per game than last season (2013: 2.8 TDs per game; 2012: 2.4; 2011: 3.1; 2010: 2.3).

To help his wayward group become more efficient, Lombardi told reporters he plans to reduce the call sheet by about 20 percent.

"You have a certain number of calls or maybe you get this one play repped against one or maybe two defenses, so if you have less calls you can kind of show more situations and you're not just talking about them," Lombardi said, per the Detroit Free Press. "It's just a matter of practicing fewer plays and then they're able to handle all the different looks that come up."

Matthew Stafford has had some fantastic moments, but he's failed to find any consistency. The sixth-year signal caller is on pace for his lowest total yardage in any season (4,286), thrown for 300-plus yards just twice, has a passer rating below 90 in six straight games and an interception in four straight.

Stafford is 0-15 on the road against teams that finished with a winning record in his career.

Against a Tom Brady-led New England Patriots team that has been on a roll, Stafford will have to move the offense to keep pace Sunday.

The Lions hope that pulling plays out of the book will help jump-start an offense that has been stalled for more than two months. It seems like grasping at straws, but at this point Lombardi has to try something.

Cards and Pats are legit. Lions have this against the next five scrubs. Not an act. It's a fact. Lions are Super Bowl caliber. Can't wait for the next 5 weeks.

It's pathetic this is supposed to be a Lions board and it's all negative all the time.

This "Super Bowl Caliber" team just played two playoff contenders and got their asses kicked. They played two sub .500 teams a few weeks ago and squeaked by with one point wins. This is NOT a "Super Bowl Caliber" team!

The Cards are not legit under Drew Stanton plus their pass
defense was very suspect and Joe and Matt had of clue what to do which really stunk.

Closer than the score appears on the road. Drops and Oline injury. We'll rebound the next five weeks and get hot for the playoffs. Can't wait.

Is see Drews numbers were complete shit against Seattle. LOL typical Lions letting backup QB's have career days against them. But hey good news I did end up selling the rookie lot for $8 ..alright finally got rid of those soon to be worthless again cards! yeaaaa haaaaawww

We're damn lucky to be 7-4 right now instead of 4-7, it was never real.

We earned every win. Really 8 wins we earned (3 missed FGs in one game).

Yeah and to think that game may end up being the common opponent tie breaker, that would just be too much if that happens.

Conference record is good with loss to Panthers/Cards only. I hope it comes down to that.

I get so freaking sick of talking about fans who say "well, we could be X if we had a kicker."

How about the miracles against New Orleans, Atlanta, and Miami? This team could be .500 if it wasn't for some really lucky breaks/bone headed coaching.

The Lions are good. They aren't great. And there are no excuses for it. If it's not the offense, it's the defense. If it's not the D, it's the O. Nothing is ever in unison with this franchise.

They weren't miracles. You act like it was a hail mary. They were earned Lions wins with second half domination. We earned 8 wins this year.
