The ?Way too Many Bowl Games? 2018-2019 Season Thread

Jeff Brohm did not prepare his team very well and is embarrassing himself and his own players. Auburn is going for it on 4th down up 35. Disgusting display of football.

Its too bad that 5* kid(Karlaftis) that would have been here, had Brohm left, now has to live with that stupid decision. Great head on your shoulders, kid. All in the name of "Purdue Legacy".

The only silver lining I see in that Purdue-Auburn debacle is that Michigan no longer risks being the first/only team to lose their bowl game.

Let's hope they don't instead decide to have a "hold our beers" moment and manage to lose tomorrow by an even greater margin than the Boilers did.

I thought it was meaningless...

You reminded me of a commenter I saw on Maize M Brew who said that those claiming bowls outside of the playoff are meaningless (and so players should sit them out cuz draft) will be the same people screaming for Harbaugh's head if they lose this "meaningless" game.

Hungry has been actually saying that himself on here too.

That is exactly what will happen

IF Michigan wins, the game was meaningless. WE still lost to OSU and ND...

IF Michigan loses, then it won't be meaningless. It will mean Harbaugh sucks, FIRE PEP!!, Shea is horrible replace with "McCaffery" or Milton, Gotta throw the ball more LLOYD!!!, etc etc etc

I kind of feel this way

Very blah about it all

watching the peach bowl, I don't think anyone could convince me that bowl games are "meaningless"

The players were fired up, the fans in the stands were very much into it. It seemed like everybody wanted to win.

Its ridiculous how far ahead of everyone else Bama and Clemson are as programs right now (though I might be saying the same thing about Georgia in a year). Depth and talent at every position and the ability to just reload endlessly. Clemson's big weakness last year was shoddy quarterbacking in their loss to Bama. So they just go out and bring in a 6-6 freshman who can sling it all over the field.

Seems that way from the little I watched the game. Just followed the game on the ticker. We have to expand the playoffs and somehow force sourthen schools to play in cold weather. Sad thing about that is the southern schools probably will get al the early home games darn it. I can?t believe how much better that freshmen qb for Clemson is over Patterson. It just blows looking at the stats Disheartening how far behind Michigan is for me.

so it's obvious that a few teams are head and shoulders better than the rest but the answer is to expand? If you know that there are 2 or 3 teams that are much better than the rest, why invite more mediocre teams?

Have to keep trying to get better and beat those teams. They have the warm weather advantage.i am sure they have other advantages down south wink, wink. I hate this system we have now. It’s boring and we have to find way to beat these southern schools.

This is why I don’t want the playoff to expand. It’s clear to me there are barely 4 teams deserving to play for a title, Bama and Clemson are so above everyone else it’s not even funny. I don’t want to see a Bama/UCF matchup and waste my time seeing slaughterings left and right.
