Tigers 2023-2024 Offseason: Trades, Free Agents, Call ups, Rule 5, tender, non-tender

I vote no, but I'm a 55 year old white guy. I like tradition. If they want to appeal to a younger demographic, this is probably a good idea.

Let the youngsters learn about the value of the home Old English D. If that doesn?t appeal to them, its their loss.

MLB isn't gratifying to the younger fans. It's not in your face instant action like other sports. Don't know how uniforms wil get young people to care about baseball. The clock change was the best thing they ever did.. That might work but not uniforms.

It all helps. Sit and do nothing and soccer will over take MLB.

All that said, I really don't care what happens. It will be around for as long as I'm around, after that, it doesn't really matter to me!

'Days or Roar' Tigers Podcast: Are the Detroit Tigers a fun team right now? 62 minutes.
Freep

On this episode: Mark and Evan start the show by trying to answer a simple question: Are the Detroit Tigers a fun team as currently constructed?

After a good-natured debate on the topic, the guys then discuss the Tigers heading to arbitration with former No. 1 overall pick Casey Mize over $25,000.
What happened and will it have long-term ramifications?

Then, Mark and Evan talk about what the Tigers' Opening Day roster may look like after some more offseason moves and whether they will have enough good players to make the playoffs.

A power guy that can't seem to get past the mendoza line? That guy? No thanks. Him and 200+k's. A glorified Baez without the defense.

I'm a hard no because I don't like the idea of a full time DH. That said, I really don't care too much about his .200 BA. He got on base at a .343 clip and had an OPS of .817

Last year his OBP would rank #2 on the Tigers and his OPS would be #1. He hit 43 more HRs than our full time DH did last year.

But, like I said, not interested

Can you imagine how many guys he'd leave at 3rd with less than 2-outs - him and Baez we'd be screaming at him. Carpenter had an equal OPS+ with Green not far behind. He's nothing specially.. He's like older Tork without any more potention. Imo, .200 guys are useless to me regardless their walk total.

Could you imagine the runs he would drive in from home plate?

Last two seasons he averaged 99. Nice but not overwhelming plus he was on better offensive teams so here who knows..

I meant solo home runs. The guy hit 93 homers the last 2 years. This team needs power more than anything imo. I could handle subpar defense in LF with 40+ home runs.

Assuming he hit's 40 in Comerica. One dimensional with no defense. Where would you play him, DH only? We already have guys that should DH. Just not a fan who can't get more hits.
