I'm hearing maybe Rajai Davis, could platoon with Dirks. 45 SB last season .....

I was looking at him yesterday. He hits LH pitchers but his away splits are terrible.

Last 3 years vs LHP .297/.363/.818
Last 3 years away .232/.269/.620

Not sure if you would want to trust his vs LH pitcher splits or away splits more??

At least Davis can steal a base

What is so much emphasis put on stealing bases? Unless you get on at a favorable clip, and can succeed in 75% or more of your attempts, they really don't add much.

We had the second most runs scored in all of baseball in 2013, while being dead last in stolen bases.

the fact a player can steal bases should be something that helps accentuate his skills, not the defining achievement.

Without Prince we'll need to manufacture more runs, steals can help us do that.

Terrible OBP and BB rate

Unless he can steal 1st base, I don't know how useful he'd be outside of pinch running

Isnt he just a slightly better delmon young? Hes abysmal on defense.

M. Morse 100.60 RC/650 .285 BAVG .329 OBP .524 SLG .853 OPS 21.87 PA/BB 17.44 PA/HR

F. Gutierrez 72.34 RC/650 .265 BAVG .299 OBP .400 SLG .699 OPS 22.07 PA/BB 47.29 PA/HR

D. Young 69.67 RC/650 .269 BAVG .309 OBP .396 SLG .705 OPS 21.25 PA/BB 36.48 PA/HR

Now granted, I dislike players that cannot take a walk. Morse hits well on the road. Hits lefties really well and hits HRs. And he could play 1B.

Franklin Gutierrez is about Delmon offensively. Except he lacks HR power, but has way more speed and can play defense.

I use Morse and/or Gutierrez only has low cost platoon options if we fail to get any other significant offensive upgrade. I believe as a last option, both Morse or Gutierrez could add wins to this team as it stands right now.

But does he make sense as a platoon with Dirks? He doesn't hit LH pitching.

Last 3 years vs. LH pitching

.266/.317/.771

Beltran goes to the yankees, i wonder what this means for our chances to get choo.
