Tigers verses White Sox Game Thread Sept. 17

I guess Jim always plays some rightys verses LHS... I guess it is because Dirks has struggled recently and sometimes the hack BB gets some hits verses LHP.. Getting late we need a 3 spot.

Yeah, well Jim's stated goal of "playing meaningful games in September" is weak as hell, too

What kind of manager says something like that with this line-up and pitching staff? SHouldn't the goal always be to win the AL central and/or play meaningful games in October?

Well I'm sure it's been said, though I'm not going to dig back thru 16 pages, but I'd like to point out:

Fuck Omar Infante.

Two games in a row the re-tread can't turn a double play and it costs us huge with our ground ball pitchers on the mound.

Garcia should have been in RF over Kelly yesterday if that is the case then..

That is what I was saying yesterday (and to you this morning) when leyland made the substitution, and sent messages to 3 or 4 of the media, including Dickerson, Beck, Iott, and another who covers them, didn't see a damn thing this morning or in tweets about the choice of kelly over Avi.

3 k's for borscht today, I waited as long as I could, didn't want to official give up on this guy but today seals it, trade him to the west coast for either a SS with range or a better 2B that can turn a double play and doesn't swing at shit 6 ft over his head.

He's playing with the guys DD has given him. The team has a few stars but the supporting cast sucks! This isn't the NBA. You can't get a few great players and surround them with scrubs and expect to win the title.

And to think that hack actually made an all-star game for his defense? R U kidding me!

I was in the car on the way home from work when it happened and Dickerson and Price were really killing Omar over and over. They were being professional of course but they wouldn't let it go.

He's blown this season singlehandedly. Several reasons have been pointed to that lands directly on him. That isn't even the point i was making, whether or not the Tigers should have won the division, which I think they should and most people I know think they should. The point I was making is that just saying that the goal is "playing meaningful games in September" is a cop-out. I don't want a manager that says shit like that.

Good for them, glad to hear em call it like it is.

The talent on the White Sox isn't any better than the talent on the Tigers. It's just been managed better.

and that is why I love listening to them, they call what wwe see, think, and post, and are honest, candid, and diplomatic,

Rod and Mario are good guys, but please, stop the non-stop coverup/excuses.

Our pitching was supposed to be better than theirs, and I still think it is. Our offense is just two inconsistent all those runners in scoring position with no outs completely killed us this year just as much as the bad defense. Huge improvements needed for 5-9

The radio guys pointed out that the run deferential in unearned runs between the tigers and the white Sox is 30+

Is that true? They also said that every 10 unearned runs is equal to a loss..

DD does deserve a bunch of the criticism for the construction of this club... But leyland deserves to be fired over how he handles the over management of the club from his line-ups to and especially the bullpen... He is clueless on how to handle a bullpen..

Now you know why the games in April are soo important! and all thos close one run games.Putting your closer in non save games are costly as well. and playing sub .220 average hitters day in and day out sure helps.
