Tigers vs. indians Game Thread Sept. 3

That's Delmon Young's 2nd RBI on a full count this year (4-for-22). He has 13 on the first pitch.

Delmon Young now has an RBI in seven of his last nine games -- hitting .452 (14x31) with 12 RBI during that stretch.
Delmon's horrible period!!

Damn and now he is settling in.. Come on hit a homer someone!!!!

Boesch chases more out of the strike zone than those star players, he has problems waiting to swing at a pitch in 'his' happy zone.

A manager shouldn't micro manage a player in the batters box. What if the pitch is down the middle and you told your hitter to take?

Then BB should know better. he had the sacks full and 1 out... DY just had a 3 ball count..... We had a young pitcher on the ropes and he let him off... Don't worry there are plenty of guys on here who are on your side about swinging at the first pitch... I am not saying it is all bad. But sometimes it may be ok to take a pitch..

Not true. Hamilton swings at 42.9% of pitches out of the strike zone. Boesch does it 39.2% of the time.

Avila is not having a good defensive game so far. Choo is on 3rd now after air mailing it into CF on the steal attempt.

Ok one guy is named Hamilton the other guy is named Boesch... Big difference...

star players have more success when swinging out of zone.

eye test with Boesch shows how often he misses badly, and frustrating that he swings first pitch after the pitcher is struggling with command.

I am so tired of the Tigers struggling verses Cleveland this year..

Boesch has a much higher contact percentage out of the strike zone than Hamilton. Hamilton's O-contact% is 54.4. Boesch is 68.9.
