Cabrera smells a batting title.

Please don't ever change that, I still love watching it and this is about the 100th time I have seen it.

Last time the Tigers had four players with at least 80 RBIs was 2006. (Guillen, Inge, Monroe, Ordonez).

gotta go for awhile back later. anyone want to do play by play?

Yes, attaboy AA. I am so glad the Tigers got Fister and not this hasbeen.

Would suck to be an Indians fan watching them go head to head a couple times late in the year. Fister is not only having a much better year than Ubaldo, but he looks like he's just flat out a better pitcher with a better future and we gave up very little for Fister in comparison to what they gave up for Ubaldo.

I think the Indians and maybe other teams, got caught up in bidding for the Ubaldo that went on that 9 game tear last year and not the mediocre pitcher from this year.

Fister has only allowed 6 stolen bases in 70 outings. That is amazing!

On the day the Tigers acquired Doug Fister, they held a 1.5 game lead over the Indians. Cleveland acquired Jimenez the next day.

Jimenez for CLE; 4-3, 4.62 ERA, 59:24 K:BB.

Fister for Tigers; 7-1, 2.02 ERA, 48:5 K:BB.

AND Indians gave up top prospects including Pomeranz.

I had to smoke a cigarette after reading that.

Nice job boys, keep pounding them. Fister has to be a little confused though with all this run support.

Tigers 4-5-6 are in beast mode.

Go angels.. Maybe texas actually rests people in that series?

Adrian Gonzalez is 0-for-1 tonight and is at .337 on the year.
Michael Young still at .338 game starts 10PM
Cabrera at .342

6-0 now, would be nice if the Tigers could finish the season on a roll by sweeping the Indians in this last series, but I am sure not expecting them to. 2 of 3 would be okay too.

All six Tigers runs tonight have scored with 2 outs, half of them off Alex Avila hits. Ubaldo is being 2-out rallied to death.

It will take at least 2 or 3 wins for the Tigers vs. the Indians. I think the Rangers will have their hands full with the Angles. The Tigers need HFA.

Really? Why do they NEED home field advantage? It would be a nice luxury to have, but I don't think it is critical. I like Verlander & Fister pitching in Game 1&2 regardless of location

Of course they don't need it...poor choice of words. However, it is much more than a luxury. I would rather the Tigers play a reeling Boston at home vs. going on the road to play the Yankees. Let the Rangers take them on first. That is a huge advantage. Also, if the Rangers were to beat the Yankees the Tigers would have HFA in the second round too. That is much more than a luxury.
