Tigers vs. mariners Game Thread September 17

Fucking retire already, acorn head!

Our offense the last few weeks worry me. If we cant score off of scrubs like this guy and blanton, we're going to be royally fucked when the playoffs start if we dont step it up.

I wanted the Tigers to trade for him at the deadline. I thought it made some sense for a PH bat if they sent a relief pitcher along. That was before they got Veras!

and Don Kelly is no longer the hero.

Ahahahahahhahahaha

Finally. Thats Miggys first homer since like august 26th or something. Hopefully this is a sign hes starting to feel better.

it could be as simple as he hits way too many weak ass slow rollers that he beats out compared to good solid hits into the outfield

Just find it hard to believe that Jose Iglesias would have the best infield hit rate of all time by a landslide over arguably the greatest hitter since Pete Rose.

With statistical proof? Uhh..k..

My point being that certain people here were whining that they were sick of people taunting you after every Iggy hit. But if you're just going to poke back then it's fair game.

Leyland was on the radio this morning and said he's obviously still dealing with the injury but he is definitely doing better.

He's starting to put some better swings in the ball, would love to see him get hot as the playoffs near. Miggy alway breaks out of slumps by hitting singles for a few games then when he starts to get dialed in you see him start to drive the ball.

Good thing about that dinger is Miggy's legs looked good...The swing had real power behind it...Plus we all knew it was out when he hit it..

You can poke fun, I don't care. It's a message board, it happens. I'm just backing it up. People tell me to provide stats to prove my points, and now I have. So i'll leave it at that.

As far as those numbers go, I get the point you're trying to make but I think it depends on how you interpret it. Iggy's infield hit % could be higher because Ichiro had more clear cut hits to the outfield. I'd like to see totals and not percentages. Would paint a clearer picture, whether it supports your argument or others.

Question. If Miggy heats up again and we clinch within the week, do we still rest him and risk him being rusty again? I say we still start him and let him get 2 AB's per game and leave after the 4th or 5th inning.
