Tigers vs. twins Game Thread August 16

Hopefully this is Verlander's last inning. Give him a bit of a rest and maybe get Ryan Perry to eat a couple innings.

Verlander with 2 quick strikeouts,

and gets nisioka to foul pop to Kelly,

Verlander with 104 pitches and the 29 pitch 1st inning is a distant memory,

Tigers 7 - 0.

Wow!!! Verlander is really growing, didn't have as electric stuff as usual tonight and still worked with what he had and painted the corners for 7 innings of 4 hit ball so far.

[quote="Mitch":70lnrtyg]Young made the right call just the worst slide I've seen all season.

Verlander can throw 120 pitches very easily, he has another inning left yet.

right and he is scheduled to have the extra day between starts with Leyland not pitching him vs. indians.

Why would smokey not start him?

J.L. must have no confidence in his bullpen to give J.V. the rest of the night off. J.V. could use a breather once in awhile

only God knows.
maybe it helps, but you think he wants him in there against the team closest to them when possible.

He's trying to find new ways to alienate the fans.

Verlander 45 straight starts of 100 or more pitches,

and tonight Tigers are 5 for 9 with risp.
