I see trying him out and all since out offense was stagnant, but all he's dont is first pitch outs, K'd and weak grounders.

Even his one hit was only a single errored into a triple.

yeah i wasnt a fan of his callup. i figured his toledo numbers were a big fluke and i was figuring he'd do about this badly. lots of strikeouts, not taking pitches, no hitting. he hasnt shown much else at the ML level.

Thanks to Gotime for a neat game thread post.

I just had a bad feeling before this game started about Max's pitch count....kept thinking about 90 pitches after 3 innings. Heard some on XM on the ride back from the hospital.
Sterling and suzy waldman were both saying Scherzer has great stuff, but was missing way inside and way outside, as well as low, and that jeter caught a break on that non strike 3 pitch. Max might have doubled his season total so far with todays walks.

So right now 3 - 2 surprising still close. but yankees bullpen is very tough.
