Tired of talking about 2013 and before.....

He was drafted because the Lions have to cover up the deficits of their franchise QB. Show me any other team that requires 3 top targets to move an offense.

This was a Matt Millen, we want to play fantasy football, I'm the smartest guy in the room draft pick. Your immediate reaction of hating the pick was the right one. You don't need to backtrack to defend it.

I've come to the conclusion that LKP is a machine learning algorithm that is trying to replicate human speech through fan posts on message boards. That is why he seems to reply out of context, repeat himself, and join together words that don't quite make sense like fluke turnovers and concentrated injuries. LKP is probably some cool acronym like Lithium Kooled Processor.

I don't buy the weapons argument for the Ebron pick.

First of all, when you have the chance to get a blue chip prospect, you do it. The Lions evaluated this guy as a blue chip prospect. The story starts and stops there.

To say he "needs more weapons"... what team isn't looking for more weapons? Who goes into the draft saying "yeah, it would be nice to be even more lethal on offense, but we really need a (fill in the position here) so let's get a guy we don't believe in to fill gaps"?

It's a ridiculous argument. The coaches have said there were only four elite prospects in the draft in their opinion, and Ebron is one of them. I can't say if they are high or not, but you draft the guy every time if you've rated him that highly.

I just hope he's as good as they think he is.

If there is one thing I can vouch for given your previous opinions as stated on this board...is that you believe that Mayhew can evaluate a first round blue chip tight end.

If every team is looking for more weapons, then rounds 1 through 7 should be QB, WR, TE, and RB.

Ink, with the signing of Tate, the Lions have more than enough on the offensive side of the ball. I know it bucks their trend of refusing to draft CBs or Safeties in the 1st round, but you can pick up a guy that you'll plug on the lineup and in a year or so, you won't have to worry about them. It doesn't hurt to fill in holes on the team, that's what the draft is for.

You want me to go ahead and counter that with basically every team in the modern NFL that doesn't require three stars on the offensive side to win a title?

Broncos are modern. Saints have multiple. Packers have multiple. Bears finally got a number two and te and did really well.

You need 3 weapons

Or maybe, just maybe players like Durham, Ross and Ogletree are pure dogshit. You ever think of that? Even when Burleson was healthy, he was getting his fair share of catches and yards. Your argument is weak as usual. Try again...

My argument is based on what stafford has done...or lack there of...since hes been here. Your argument is based on hopes and dreams.....that never come true. Titus broyles leshoure bush....now tate and ebron. My god your skull is thick ...are you a caveman?

Now you got it Tony. Ebron will face single coverage more than any top ten drafted receiving option in history. If things go to plan he should be a rookie of the year candidate. If not, he's not opening up anything for anybody, because he'll have to be 'crushing it' before anything changes in the way teams play us. Also...also...if things work out that way and he does earn that respect, CJ, Tate, Bush, Bell, Stafford, should all have monster years. That means....drumroll. More yards and TDs. You homers facade is cracking when you understand the rationale but then predict the pedestrian. You should be telling me Jimmy Graham and 5000 and 40 not the other way around.

Ding ding ding....we have a winner folks! These morons keep talking up ebron, his skills and what he will provide to the offense opposite calvin....then when we dare say he should produce they back down and toss out low ball fauria type numbers lol. Its hysterical to watch that longer booger tony and lkp talk....how much they contradict themselves mere pages of a thread later.

If he is that good he should put up gaudy numbers in this offense. If he doesnt hes either....not that good at getting open at the nfl level or stafford couldn't get the job done. None of the "haters" have come out and said ebron blows. We've said if hes a top 10 "blue chip" prospect...than produce like one or else we could have just drafted some bum in rd 5 to get 500 yards like lkp wants him to have.

Yeah, I am getting irritated that defenders of the Ebron pick say it's unfair for us to expect an immediate impact from the guy, but justify it by saying that secondary help takes 2-3 years to develop.

When you are a TIGHT END taken in the top 10, which NEVER EVER HAPPENS, you better be an impact player from day damn 1.

Why am i a homer? You're the dummy who's saying he should be the next Jimmy Graham or expect the same type of production in year one. Then you follow it up with "he's one of the worst top ten picks in history" ..lol. Nobody will double him up...lol. You're clueless. You think because he's a rookie that defenses won't account for him? Fn retarded.

And don't tell me wtf i should and shouldn't be saying. I expect big things from this offense. I predicted around 35 TDs and a ton of yards. That's good enough for me. More than that, i want wins.

But Stafford is shit....remember? Why wouldn't you want to surround him with good players?

You're a complete fn idiot. I never once contradicted myself. You morons just don't get it. I expect this kid to put up big numbers but he's a rookie. He'll struggle at times. How the fk am i contradicting myself? I'm not making excuses for the kid.
And you're not just saying "he should produce". You're telling everyone he BETTER BE the next Jimmy Graham, you dolt!!! Not happening in year one!! Be realistic for fk sakes...

All thos players are shit though and never helped. Either hurt, out of the league and couldn't cut it. Not Staffords fault at all. He's had no help here. You're the dumb one.
