Trade Rumors Castellanos to Cubs, Greene to Braves - signs with the Reds now Phillies

ex-Tiger Castellanos became the only player in the Cubs lineup tonight, to get a hit (single) vs the Cards SP Flaherty as well as being only 1 of 2 w/a BB. Otherwise, the Cubbies might have been no-hit, if not PGed.

Cards also took over first in the NLCD from the Cubbies, with their 8-0 SHO win...lolz.

Motor City Bengals Tigers Blog Podcast: Detroit Tigers trade deadline recap & discussing Al Avila reports. 28 minutes.

Being a few days removed from the MLB trade deadline, the Detroit Tigers have a bit of a new look.
The Detroit Tigers made a couple of moves at the MLB trade deadline on Wednesday, so we figured we needed to dive into those moves on the podcast. In this latest episode, we talk about the moves the Tigers made at the trade deadline and what the future could hold for Travis Demeritte and other players new to Detroit.

In the second half of the show, we discuss a report from The Detroit Free Press? Anthony Fenech which hints at the fact that Detroit Tigers GM Al Avila passed up a couple of possible trades in 2017 that would have netted Detroit two future stars. In light of this report, is Avila really the best man for the job to help the Tigers rebuild?

Rough start for Greene

Blew a save on Saturday and gave up a 3 run shot in the 10th yesterday for the loss

Nick mashing the ball for Chicago, which is good to see. Being so close to Chicago, I am surrounded by Cubs fans at work. Even my wife's family are all cubs fans. I know it's a small sample and not sustainable, I hope he goes off like JD did for the Snakes when we traded him.

8 games 33 at bats
14 hits
6 doubles
3 home runs
.424 AVG, .457 OBP, .879 SLG, 1.336 OPS, .7 WAR. Total WAR on the year is up to 1.8, which is already the second highest of his career. Last year he was worth 2.9 WAR. Next highest was 1.6 in 2016.

He is in fire. Wish the Tigers had a smaller ballpark. Not sure why I said that lol.
