Training Camp News

This is like going to vegas, putting all your money on black, it coming red and being like... Well it was a good decision because if it was black I would of won. It was just bad luck, still great decision because I had a chance to double my money.

Going to Vegas is always a good decision.

And if Gurley sucks, the GM failed. What's so hard to grasp about this?

He took a chance, it failed. It's HIS fault, HE is the one who drafted Broyles. Unless a magical unicorn stole the draft card from Mayhew and galloped it up to the commish?

All GMs take risk in Round 2 and beyond. Best and Broyles worth the injury risk. Injury risk happens. It's football. They were good picks. Mayhew can't control injuries.

And with Bush for 2013/Abdullah and Tate. Who the hell cares anymore what picks didn't work out due to injuries. Mayhew kept and reloaded the talent.

I'm guessing the 2014 Lions care. You know the one that "needed another weapon" on offense to take it to the next level. Sure would of been sweet not to have a wasted 2nd rounder being a healthy scratch.

He wasn't that injured last year, just wasn't good enough to beat out other players.

The GM did not fail. You take a risk sometime for players worth it. Best and Broyles and Gurley are worth it.

Mayhew built a great roster. He did not fail no matter what single or handful of picks didn't work out (for reasons beyond his control).

If Best is drafted, stays healthy and sucks, then that is a bad GM fail. Or maybe he got bad info from the scouts though.

The 2014 Lions were a great team. They had many injuries. Calvin and Tate were bests. They had Bush. He got hurt. Ebron was a rookie. It was a first year in the system. And they were screwed by the refs. There was no roster issue that caused the Lions to lose.

So no GM can do any wrong. Got it.

Read what I wrote. If they take a guy and he stays healthy and sucks, then they failed on that pick. But you have to see what the scouts said and also how the rest of the roster is built.

Mayhew built a playoff/SB caliber roster. We still have a great roster for 2015.

So the whole "we didn't have enough weapons on offense" used to defend Stafford was not true?

So in your mind Leshoure & Titus were the only two busts under Mayhew.

Nope. Crazy is a form of injury. So Titus was a good pick.

Being fat and high is a real disorder. Leshoure was the right pick. Him and Best were even working on nicknames for the dynamic tandem they were going to be out of the backfield.

Titus was a good pick too. Can't expect someone to be that insane. Concussion may have caused that too.

LeShoure got hurt and it slowed him. Decent pick at the time late extra Round 2 using Round3/4

Derrick Williams was a bad one. Coaches didn't know how to use him properly though. But added Burleson in 2010 so I'm good with that.

Lol your troll shoes are extra shiny today. Must be because of the game today.

Lions went 11-5. I'm not trolling. I'm vehemently disagreeing with people's dumb assessment that Mayhew is a bad or average GM. Clearly Mayhew is a good GM.

Who said he's a bad or average GM?

Even the best GMs in the history of the NFL have made mistakes. Mayhew drafting Ryan Broyles in 2012 was a BAD mistake. Admit it, move on, and people will maybe respect you more on here.

It wasn't a mistake. It was three injuries. I'm right. Respect that I actually know the situation.

Healthy Scratch 2014.

Still recovering from achilles. Balled in pre-season. Ross played ST and could play slot too, Fuller a deep threat. Didn't mean Broyles sucked. Tate had the job.

Team said healthy. Team said healthy scratch. You have his medical papers?

Yet another clueless statement from the king of clueless LKP. Go away Packer fan.

Healthy but no need to risk further injury with achilles. Plus he's not a gunner. Tate was in the slot a ton too. Calvin played some slot. Caldwell said Broyles and Tate play the same spot. Ross and Fuller get the active roster spots. This doesn't mean Broyles is a bad player, Tate is just better. Broyles is not a deep threat like Fuller nor a ST player with coverage ability like Ross.

Lions learned their lesson and gave Broyles some rest after injury. Now with Jones healthy and Moore added, Broyles could be expendable. Again this does not mean Broyles sucks.

It's pretty simple. Go away clueless misinformed Lions fan.
