Training Camp News

Ugh, if I hear that "31 other teams passed on him too" crap one more time regarding the draft, I'll freak out. Who gives a shit what the other teams did? How about the Lions get a 2nd round pick right once in their history? Have the foresight to find someone that other teams couldn't? Instead, it's excuse city.

"31 other teams". Not an excuse. And we have Levy so shut it.
And KVN and Abdullah are going to be beasts. TWO 2nd rders.....better now?

You know this because... They've played a real NFL game? Let's pump the brakes on Abdullah. He hasn't played a snap of legitimate football yet. This fan base is notorious for overreaction during the preseason.

Van Boy has eclipsed the hype of Boss Bailey. Who was the greatest 2nd round steal ever!

A number on this board act like he is going to come in and dominate the NFL. He has done nothing to date.

I haven't seen any comments like that. Maybe I just missed them. I've seen quite a few that say he could contribute quite a bit this year......but haven't seen any that said he is going to be a dominant force.

More so on the radio and in person. Multiple people said that he's reminding them of Barry Sanders. One preseason game in.

Well, if Kirk Gibson was to be Mickey Mantle - Abdullah can be Barry.

Take a look at Tony's post on here, calling him a beast.

It's probably mostly just him and LKP that are talking his greatness. Just seems like it's come up way much.

To me, someone saying a player "is going to be a beast" is just Tony saying he thinks Van Noy will be really good.

What's wrong with that. Every person on this board does that with newly drafted players. Not one of them has ever played an NFL down either......but every single poster on this board has said one player or another is going to be great.....or terrible.....or a superstar....or a bust. I do every year. Hughes does. Tony. You. Ink. Mitch. Tom......ect....

I didn't see one post where Tony said Van Noy is currently great. THAT, would be reaching.

I sure hope any Lion Running back will be a beast this season.. Its time to deliver some playoff wins for the fans..

I guess, but when used in context of justifying the 2nd round drafting ability of them gm, it implies some sort of greatness has been achieved.

To me it is still way yo early to say he was a good draft pick. Let's let him move ahead of whitehead before we start talking about how he was a good 2nd round pick.

I think we are gonna see it Bob! Those bookend guards make all the difference in the world plus the fact that we dumped that tiny center (Railoa). All we need is a RB who can burst into that hole and we have at least 3 of them that can do that.

Just got a feeling on both of them. KVN might take a little longer, but Abdullah is going to shine immediately I think.

I do think KVN will be a beast. I think he's a very good LB. He's going through some bumps in the road and is learning a whole new position from his college days. And Abdullah should contribute immediately. He's a better all around RB than Bell is and we just saw a glimpse of what he can do in a real game.

I guess talking up a player around here means he's a first ballot HOFer lol

I can't wait to see him come regular season.

So no one is going to post that NyQuil ran with the ones today in practice? I think he sticks on the 53!
