Training Camp News

You do realize that this is WHY having good depth is important. Mayhew has done a great job of depth at many positions this year......not all, but LB, RB, OL, LB and CB are all able to take a hit without losing much.

LB is a position on this team where one injury to anyone but Levy isn't a big deal.

No more injuries, though.

In no way is Travis Lewis good depth.

Yes, I do understand that creating a team with depth is important. That is why good teams can overcome injuries when in the past the Lions could not. I was referring to our favorite Lion homer called this team and past teams holeless!

Lions had many injuries and went 11-5 last year.

You just said "many injuries," and then cited that we were in the middle of the pack. So the injury stuff is basically neutral and irrelevant in the course of the season and compared to the rest of the NFL.

that is many injuries. And important ones. Calvin, Tulloch, Fairley. And Lions overcame the injuries. 11-5.

Mayhew has built great depth. 2012/2013 we were dealing with cap stuff which hurt the depth. Plus the injuries were more severe. Now Mayhew has perfected the team with depth.

Very injured in 2013. Quin (who didn't miss a game but played hurt)and Houston (hamstring and toe, again playing hurt cost us more) and Slay and Calvin 4 games. Waddle a few games. Bush 1.5 games. Burleson 7 games. Pettigrew 2. Huge injuries allowing big plays and a 1-6 finish. No WR depth due to tight cap.

A player playing hurt..no way. How did Quin manage to do what a plethora of others do every year. Suprised he didn't win comeback player of the year in 2014.

Slay who was getting burnt and only started a handful of games when healthy is a big loss? This was 2013 Slay, not 2014.

Fixed it for ya

And you just said they were "the least" impacted team concerning injuries. Lol

Dubsco is a liar. Or just doesn't check the facts first.

The Lions had many injuries is a fact. I didn't say the most injuries.

The Larry Webster project, much like my 4th grade diarama, remains unfinished.

I think we can blitz effectively. Tulloch had 2 sacks in 3 games. Levy can blitz, Van Noy can blitz. Whitehead did in college. Ihedigbo can blitz. If they hit home, it works.

Webster and Reid I keep getting more excited about each day.

Walker has a slow first step from what I read so far. We'll see once the pads come on.

LKP excited about Webster

Reid looking good at DT which was other part of that sentence. Taylor did well and earned the job. Jones is back. Tapp did well. Ansah is a beast. We'll see on Webster as the 5th DE.

When you are in the middle of the NFL in regards to injuries, then it's a pointless stat to reference. Every mother f'ing team deals with injuries, and important ones. Losing key players to games here and there isn't exclusive to the Detroit Lions.

Not some teams. Like the Packers for instance in 2014. Lions in 2011 until the secondary got hurt the last 6. Some injuries are more important than others. Just because you want to generalize "everyone has injuries" does not make it equal.

And you though the Lions were the least injured. Clearly you don't pay attention and shouldn't comment on something you don't know about.
