Welcome Back

And adding a journeyman 33 year old (34 in December) does nothing but scare me more. You can have two potential guys in there at one time who are almost 70 years old combined. Experience is nice, but you have to be able to play.

They are able to play. See both their production in 2013.

Because they were all-pro's? Or maybe pro-bowlers' or a second team pro-bowler? Player of the month?

They were so good they got zero recognition.

Top 25 coverage recognition from PFF. That's all you need.

You better recognize

And when did top 25 become good..

Out of 100 and more who don't get the snaps. Really 19 and 21. But continue to bash away for no reason. Sorry we don't have the number 1 and number 2 CB in the league by using 1st round picks in back to back years.

We have junk. The secondary will get torched way too much .. like every year.

Well they were average last year. Top 10 in overall coverage per PFF. And we have talent. Lots of it in this secondary and good coaching/schemes for it too.

You underrate Slay, Mathis and Quin big time. Ihedigbo is solid and more of a run support/blitz guy.

Considering there are 32 teams and each teams needs 2+ CBs, two top 25 players is pretty good. Now, there are obviously significant differences between a top 25 and top 5 player, which has a huge effect on the defense, but just getting to average in the secondary would be a huge step up for the Lions.

And the bitching continues...lol. Holy fuck. Do you guys complain at a restaurant if you don't have enough croutons in your salad? Stfu. He's a veteran CB who supposedly fits the system and can obviously still play. Bitching and moaning about the secondary when we add players is dumb. We didn't get worse by adding Florence.....so why complain about it?

That's if you believe they're top 25..a junk site like PFF. If they were top 25 but Slay wasn't why aren't they both starting..

In 5 fucking starts. If Florence is such a great corner, then why on earth was he not a starting corner for 2/3 of the season? If he did it for 14-16 games, you might have a point and some backers who(like you) follow and believe that pff is god.

Wonder where our safeties rank? We'll give up 475 points this season.

They were average last year. Above in some categories (TDS allowed, comp %), slightly below in others (yards per game)

Quin was ranked tied 10th. Ihedigbo 16th. Out of 86 safeties playing 25% of the snaps last year. Delmas 25th.

He played a ton. The games he didn't start he played 30-40 snaps. He had a very good season playing 600 snaps for Carolina. That's a large number of snaps. They brought him back Week 3.

So, better than average? Not bad...

Ihehidgbo was 2nd overall in run support and 4th in blitz. 72 in coverage. He's a in the box safety. Ihedigbo had 10 solid to good games of coverage and 6 bad in 2013.

I can live with that. Anything is better than Delmas
