Welcome Back

He played a ton. The games he didn't start he played 30-40 snaps. He had a very good season playing 600 snaps for Carolina. That's a large number of snaps. They brought him back Week 3.

K, Lkp. How bout you agree to that if Drayton Florence sees limited snaps or is cut before the season it's because he is not worthy? With that comes you also admitting that he is NOT comparable to Joe Haden even if pff thinks he is, even though he's playing a backup role?

I can live with that. Anything is better than Delmas

Overall Delmas was 11th in coverage. However, when Delmas got beat, he got beat bad. He gave up the highest Yards per catch in the entire league at 22.4 yards on the completions he allowed.

Ihedigbo only allowed 12.3 YPC. He stays in front of his guys and is a sure tackler.

He could be worthy still. Vaughn, Greenwood or Green. 2 of them could really step up too. He got cut by Carolina in training camp and still was very worthy coming back in Week 3.

It's not always black and white. There is a grey area for all players and transactions.

And who cares about Haden. If Florence produces like Haden liek he did in 2013, then the Lions will be very happy.

Delmas is #1 in getting to the ball late and delivering a blow to a FUCKING teammate! ! Fuck Delmas, bet he doesn't do shit in Pitt.

He's in Miami. We'll see him this year.

Nope if he gets cut because he can't beat out backups, it's because he's not as good as you think he is. Who cares about Haden? You're the one who brought his name up...dipshit

Not necessarily. It could be because Vaughn, Greenwood and Green did really well. All 4 could be good.

But..He's Joe Haden according to pff, who would be a lock for STARTING in Detroit. So Joe Haden' 2013 equivalent, might not make the Lions final roster? Quit while you're behind..silly

Florence had Joe Haden production in 2013. And he could still be very good. But Vaughn, Greenwood and Green can all have Joe Haden potential too.

And there are other things beyond control like injuries too.

Delmas was a glorified cheerleader, whiffed on too many tackles, got burnt 1-2 times a game and ALWAYS took too many dumb penalties. Glad to see him gone....

Delmas made some plays. But like I said, when he was off, it was very very bad for big gains. Gave up 14 receptions for 313 yards and 4 TDs. Low comp % but the completions were bad news for Detroit.

Ihedigbo sures things up. He doesn't give you the big stops but he is a sure player to not give up a big one.

Both safeties had 3 ints on the season. And Ihedigbo is much better in run support and blitz. Should be an upgrade and more durable too. Delmas wit the big plays, cap number and knee issues had to be gone.

Yep, me too. Though I've changed my mind on who I think shouldve been drafted by the Lions in rd 1.

Tony, no one here is bitching that they added him. What the issue here is that the guy who started this thread is making him out to be an upper-eschelon CB, through his comparisons to Joe Haden, and saying that him and Mathis are one of the best CB duos per PFF, even going as far to compare them to Seattle's CBs, and Patrick Peterson. Did you expect us to not call him out for those ridiculous statements?

Fine, veteran CB who's going to get some spot duty. Cool. But let's not make him out to be like he's going to be some big impact player. He's a 33 year old journeyman that was added a few days before the pre-season.

If he plays like he did in 2013 he'll have a big impact.

I never said he was as good as Haden. He just produced like Haden did last year. And if that happens for Detroit, it's a good thing. If he plays like 2011/2012, Lions won't be as happy or Florence won't play. It'll be Slay, Mathis and Bentley still.

The problem is you don't understand the difference between saying producing like in one year and an overall comparison of the players.

Basically you are "calling me out" for a statement I didn't even make. It's statement you think I made in your head.

I'm going to go out on a limb here.

There's a problem, but I really don't think that's the problem.

I've actually started mentally adding the following suffix to every statement you make. "in my Madden franchise."

i.e. Stafford is currently an elite QB "in my Madden franchise."

It helps me keep what little sanity I have left.

I never called him elite. I said he can be elite. Again it's a problem with you people making stuff up in your own head what I said.

Jared, I think that's a good way to handle some of those posts. Maybe I need to adopt your methods.

And no, he can't be elite, he won't be elite. He's never been elite. If he was, he wouldn't be getting tossed around franchise after franchise. He's 33, his time to be "elite" is done.

Green, Greenwood, and Vaughn are not, at the moment, even challenging for a starting spot, in fact their mentioned as POTENTIAL backups for the starters. Haden is a day 1 starter in Detroit. Are you arguing that Haden wouldn't start in Detroit? If not, then you are admitting that Florence is not on Haden level, which basically voids your entire argument. So, actually, since Florence=Haden, Florence will be starting in Detroit without any injuries to the current slated starters?

LKP: Stafford is a good QB and can be elite.

Hughes/Dalton/kdp/jared/mitch/dubsco: LKP just said Stafford was elite.

Your statement is false. Read what I say and don't jump to conclusions.

stop being a dumbass. Florence produced like Haden in 2013. That is what I said. You jumped to the conclusion that Florence=Haden in 2014.

And again I don't care about Haden or if he would start here. It's not an option. I care about the players in Detroit. And Florence if called to play could produce like Joe Haden's numbers. He did it last year.
