Welcome Back

Think Pettigrew is elite? He performed at pretty high level recently. What about Fauria? He caught 7 tds last year, is he elite? Joique Bell, is he an "elite" RB?

Even using your ridiculous premise that he was better than Joe Haden last year (per some awful website), he's still not an elite player.

Can Florence allow only 54.4% completion, only 1 TD on the year, nab 2 ints. 13.3 YPC and only have 2 missed tackles, only be targeted 57 times due to good coverage in 600 snaps. Yes he can do that in Detroit.

Ihehidgbo was 2nd overall in run support and 4th in blitz. 72 in coverage. He's a in the box safety. Ihedigbo had 10 solid to good games of coverage and 6 bad in 2013.

Passing league and he's 72 in coverage? Swell.

It's stats and coverage. He allowed low comp %, low TDs, got 2 picks and didn't miss many tackles. He played well. I'm not comparing him to Haden as a player you idiots, just Hadens stats.

you left out the most important stat....he also had like 8 years of doing nothing. Lets start him! that's when you know your secondary sucks ass.....nice job mayhew.

But gives up low YPC. Keep things in front of him unike Delmas (worst in league in YPC). Upgrade over Delmas still. And it was 10 good and 6 bad games last year. Plus we get great run support (2nd best in league for all safeties) and blitz (4th best in league). It was a good addition.

stop being a dumbass. Florence produced like Haden in 2013. That is what I said. You jumped to the conclusion that Florence=Haden in 2014.

And again I don't care about Haden or if he would start here. It's not an option. I care about the players in Detroit. And Florence if called to play could produce like Joe Haden's numbers. He did it last year.

What pff doesn't take into account is that Drayton Florence was not playing the same role that Haden played for the Browns. Was Florence covering the best receiver on the opposing team for a majority or all of those snaps? This is exactly why your argument is pointless, and why Florences pff numbers vs Haden's are biased towards the guy covering inferior receivers. Watch you're fucking " game film" and get back to us when you have a valid point that actually proves your claim.

Sounds like a pretty damn good CB. Wonder why he's been on 5 different teams since 2008?

He played a ton in 2011 with the Pats to the super Bowl and all year in 2013. He can be a good player. With his vet experience, he deserves to start.

He played well covering who he was supposed to cover. And again I'm just comparing their numbers not players. Florence had good numbers for any CB and faced plenty of good WRs. And he won't be a number 1 CB in Detroit. Slay and Mathis are still better than him.

Injury and some down years. 2013 is the most revelant year though. But clearly doesn't set anything in stone either.

I never said he will play like that. I said he can. There is a big difference. Again you guys are jumping to conclusions about what I said.

correct....he had his best year 3 years ago when he wasn't even the starter for every game.....and has been cut/released twice since then. Nice job mayhew picking up sloppy 4ths on a guy that has been a back up almost his entire career and making him your starter. Again....that move shows you the state of our severely undertalented secondary.

So, Florence played on Haden's level while playing against lesser opposition. My buddy put up 2008 Darrell Revis type numbers while playing at North Iowa Area Community College, maybe the Lions should sign him?

Baltimore wanted him. Played well last year too but Baltimore had bigger cap issues. The most recent year he played well in 2013. He is a good addition. He can play well here and is more sure in stopping big plays than Delmas and better in run support.

And he didn't get cut. He became a free agent and Baltimore snatched him up.

Last time I checked covering number 2 and number 3s were very important. Talking about community college compared to Carolina's defense, you are just dumb.

He helped Carolina's defense last year for sure in 600 snaps, he can help us.

Its just some exaggerated truth for you LKP. Basically just showing you that their success last year should not be compared because Haden is a number 1 corner facing the best receiver on the field game in and game out, not matching up against the more often then not average number 2s and 3s. It's an inaccurate and unfair comparison on your part.

He had good numbers. He played well. He can do that here one year later. That is all that matters. I'm not saying he is Joe Haden. Get it through your thick skull.

6bad games? That was all..:hmm:

Wonder why Carolina let such a gem get away?

Major cap problems too. Some teams want to get younger. They let Captain Munnerlyn get away too. Does he suck?

You get 90 guys right now. Florence adds value and if he plays like last year, the Lions will be happy.
