sad thing for sparty is....do any of you doubt that sparty would have put it in the endzone with that much time left? i don't.

The real sad thing is they won't be able to field a team this complete or competitive for years. They blew it.[/quote:s75fb3mc]

You never know what next year will bring. I think next year will be just as good.

Yeah MIke Valenti is going to be pissed.. He's going to hear it from a shit ton of U of M fans as well..

Why, because we lost the B1G championship game while UM watched us ? We showed up, no one thought we would even do that. We played a good game, most thought that wouldn't even happen

Rich what? Richmond!]My guess for final BCS Standings

1. LSU
2. OK State
3. Alabama
4. Stanford
5. Oregon
6. Boise State
7. Arkansas
8. Wisconsin
9. Virginia Tech
10. Kansas State
11. South Carolina
12. Baylor
13. Michigan
14. Houston
15. TCU
16. Clemson
17. Oklahoma

After watching last nights B1G Championship same, I feel like MSU deserves to be ranked ahead of UM at this point. Tough to penalize them for that loss. If they didn't run into the kicker, K,Martin's kick return would have put them ahead with less than 2 minutes. IMO, MUS holds on for the win.

Plus they won the head to head (bastards),

Rich what? Richmond!]- TCU will earn BCS bid if it ends up in top 16.
- LSU has NC game bid
- Alabama if not in NC game, will be an at large bid
- OK State if not in NC game will be in Fiesta Bowl (winner of big 12 auto-bid)
- Stanford will be a BCS at large bid (and will get one)
- Oregon and Wisconsin will both be in Rose Bowl (winner of Pac 10 vs. Big Ten winner)
- Clemson has auto bid to the Orange bowl (ACC Winner)
- West Virginia automatically gets BCS berth (for winning Big East, however big east doesn't automatically get put into a specific bowl)

Others teams likely in the top 16 - Kansas State, Houston, Boise State, Arkansas, South Carolina, Michigan, Virginia Tech, and Baylor.

Out of those teams, Arkansas and South Carolina are eliminated because one conference isn't allowed that many bids in BCS. With LSU and Alabama both being in.

Houston and Boise St. like every non AQ (auto qualifiers) won't get chosen for at large. Also Kansas State is not likely to get selection because they stink.

So in this scenario (with TCU being in the top 16, thus getting bid) the three teams left for the one remaining slot are Baylor, Michigan, and Virginia Tech.

OR

Michigan might play an at-large Alabama team if Ok St surpasses them

be careful what you wish for.

Don't they get in based on A?

THIS IS PERFECT PROOF AS TO WHY THIS ****ING SPORT NEEDS A PLAYOFF ALREADY!!! You need a Master's Degree to figure out who goes to a BCS bowl game.

If there is ever a playoff, you will need a masters degree to figure out who's going to the playoff if there's an effort to decide the best 4 or 8 or 16 teams in the country. If it's just conference champions it would be simple, but some conferences are better than others.

Shouldn't have lost to an average ND team and case would be closed.

They didn't just lose

You missed the point completely. UM jumps MSU because of less losses. Don't argue about MSU beating UM its irrelevant except for brgging rights. Difference UM beat Nebraska and ND and MSU lost to them both, there could be no talk if MSU beat either one. A one loss Sparty team would definitely get in.

I blanked on the MSU - Nebraska loss.

Carry on...

No sweat. I always said win a CC and its a big advantage but loss and it can be damaging. Personally though I would have been fine with UM in the CC game. That would have been sweet. Even if it would have knocked us out of BCS contention.

Are we complaining about our bowl situation? I'm not.

Nope, my stance has always been that I would rather the guys have a shot at winning than playing up and get smashed. Now if they could play up and win. That would be AWESOME.

****in' whiners.

Well, i'm sure you would be mad too if the situation was reversed. I would like a BCS game, who wouldn't, but I believe in the end UM proved they were worthy for a BCS game AND had one less loss AND will probably be ranked higher in the polls that matter. MSU had their chance last night and couldn't get it done.

Situation probably will be reversed down the road and then we can see things from the other side. That's how it goes. Just like that Saban quote from 2006 about how the championship game shouldn't be a rematch 'cause the #2 team already had their shot. or was it 03? I for get...time to google

I wouldn't call it whining. The system is broken and every human being in this country knows it. A conference championship game penalizes the loser while teams that sit home and watch from their couch move up in the polls. That's just a fact. Arkansas moved up 3 places after getting shelled in their last game by LSU.

I guess it was 03, he was on the other side of the fence.

"Anyone who doesn't win their conference has no business playing in the national championship game."
Nich Saban 2003
