2016 Draft- Who ya got?

That's why it's bad, imo. Sacks are graded heavily against the QB, even when sack has nothing to do with the QB's. We'll all seen QB's get sacked when they didn't have a chance. They shouldn't be a huge negative on you. Because they just assume all sacks were the fault of the QB's. That one stat makes the QBR dumb.

As far as the rest, I don't understand it fully either.

As for Matt doesn't matter much, 19th in passer rating, 22nd in QBR.

Read this...it helps explain it some. While I don't understand it I do think it is probably better than QB rating to determine how good a QB is actually playing.

If you think about it, how much of the yardage is a QB truly responsible for? I would love to see a stat that breaks down each QBs actual yards thrown in the air and the amount of work the receiver does for the QB.

TDS to INT ratio, Rating, Completion Percentage, those are what you are looking for at a good QB. And our guy is average in those categories.

YPA - YAC.. Basically QB air yards.

Right below passing yards.

You're probably right......but some of you guys act like Stafford is the ONLY qb in history to get pub for passing yards.

Marino, Fouts, Moon, Peyton......all produced little to no playoff success and are all HOF'ers.

Is Stafford? Of course not.......but like it or not.....he's going to get attention for his numbers at his age. Different generation or not.

If you think those 4 only get pub for passing yards, not sure what to tell ya.. No offense

Of course. But everyone who talks about Stafford can ONLY talk about yardage. What else can you point to statistic wise to bump him up? The real stats aren't that great, and he hasn't won a thing.

Not arguing any of those points.

Anyone still on the Stafford bandwagon is there on his potential only......and that well is drying up rapidly.

And I'm ON the bandwagon. But I readily admit my view of him is based ONLY on what I think he could do.....not what he HAS done.

You might not have said that but this comment comes close.. "..but some of you guys act like Stafford is the ONLY qb in history to get pub for passing yards."

The Matt pub for passing yards is because they can't pub him for anything else. And it is a different game. Can't disregard that. Passer rating, the top 9 guys - 8 are currently playing.

The difference is Marino, Manning and to a slightly less extent Fouts and Moon were near the lead league in multiple categories including QB rating. All of them had multiple years being a top 5 rated QB. Occasionally the best rated QB.

While Stafford has only been rated in the top half of the league once. I get people like to bag on QB rating, but look at the rankings year over year and you will not have to many complaints the final order it ranks the QBs.

I still think he has the potential to take another (the next?) step forward, I just don't think it will happen because he's a Detroit Lion.

Does that mean I'm on his bandwagon or I've been run over by it?

Don't forget "come from behind 4th quarter wins." People eat that shit up with a giant ladle.

Every time I'm down on Stafford he puts together a three game stretch where I think I've been too hard on him. Then he follows that up with a five game stretch that tells me that my judgement is just fine.
