2016 Draft- Who ya got?

Boykin pick got me laughing. The guy is crap.

Boykin is crap? He's a pretty solid QB with darn good numbers. I'd def take a flyer on him in the later rounds.

I love this part about Boykin:

"..you're not getting a guy known for making the best decisions with the football.."

So basically he's Stafford without the arm?

He's got a pretty good arm. The nice thing about him is that he's not a parking meter like our current guy.

I'm not saying draft him early, but I wouldn't mind them taking a flyer.

Though "Boykin has been dealing with a lingering ankle injury and is questionable to play January 2nd against Oregon."

So once he has surgery we have a shot.

Matt is an underrated runner.

And it's not like TCU has droves of talent in the NFL. Back in 50's and 60's maybe.

He is? I must have missed that.

Well, they did have one of the best RBs in the history of the game. And come on man, Red Rifle.

The proper words escape me for how much I dislike his mock draft.

So many more important areas need to be focused on this year. OL, DL, and LB as most important with S and CB not far behind. So many issues that getting a TE earlier than R5 seems like a waste, have to be more important needs than TE for 2016. Add to that the fact Jake Butt is available in 2017 and I hold off trying to fix TE in 2016 and fix other needs first then go hard after Jake in 2017, even trading up if necessary. He is a legit R1 TE unlike Pettigrew and Ebron combined.

I also would avoid Big 12 players. Flashy stats due to terrible defenses. PAC is getting that way too. Hard to judge NFL level of quality when so many college teams and even conferences are focused more on flashy O putting up 50+ than on a D that holds opponents under 10.

If he left this year he was projected to be a 2nd or 3rd rounder. I really doubt he can do anything next year that would improve that dramatically. The one thing that he might be able to do is become a little more polished so the transition will be a little easier.

That said...it would be stupid of the Lions to target a specific TE in any draft let alone NEXT years draft!

Honestly, if they draft a TE in any round next year im going to lose my shit.

Come on dude, a guy like Jake Butt is just what Stafford needs. He doesn't have enough around him.

haha. I actually think Jake Butt is going to be a solid Pro TE. However, I think there are several average to above average TE's who can be signed for cheap. No need to waste a draft pick on one. Especially not this year.

If only Ebron was healthy all year, all this TE talk would be moot - considering hes 'un-guardable'

What Mayhew & Co failed to realize is no one was covering Ebron because they knew he couldn't catch.

"Look how open he is on every play!!!"
