2021 Free Agency and Cap Cuts

Report: Falcons will trade Julio Jones to Titans

For at least a second.

We play the Falcons. Helps the Lions a little.

Drafted Kyle Pitts and traded Julio.

Imagine if Lions drafted Ebron and traded Calvin for a 2nd and 4th rounder

Imagine if Ebron was worth a top 10 pick and not trading Calvin. Or better yet imagine if we did something smart and took Donald.

Imagine how much you would bitch about Donald with Suh and Fairley on the roster

Would Donald be the same player. We'll never know. could have 5 torn ACLs in Detroit. or better yet, dumped by Patricia in 2018 (would have been his 5th year)

you think the Lions brass would have signed Fairly and Suh if they drafted Donald?

2014 roster. You guys always want to draft for need not bpa. Hence all the michah parsons and wr love pre draft. Rt love too but nobody thought Sewell would fall

But again, Donald could have sucked here or left in 2018, 2019. We would be in exact same spot now

Talk about Cap, fitting..

Lions or losers.

Lions Sign Linebacker Reggie Gilbert

OLB depth with some experience. Another former Packer

Geronimo Allison, Tim Boyle, Jamaal Williams

Dom Capers Senior Defensive Consultant

Signing back-ups from a new regime's former teams ALWAYS works out.

SUPER BOWL!!!

Uh, the Packers are not the new regimes former team. Rams and Saints are the former team. But thanks for complaining for no reason, especially about a depth signing that might not even make the roster.

They went the smartest guy in the room direction....dont resign either of them and dont draft Donald.

Draft Ebron and let him run 1 yard outs for 4 years. Super impactful!

Let's see what Onwuzurike, McNeil and Brockers can do. It all led us to this moment. Contract year play for Hand and Nick Williams too. Unleash Okwaras and Flowers at 3-4 OLB and move to End in nickel. Can't wait

And Donald can still help Stafford win a Super Bowl

Okwaras and Flowers...probably scaring the shit out of NFL offensive lines :lmao:

Romeo had 10 sacks and Flowers is known to get consistent pressure. They shouldn't take the Lions lightly at all. And pressure can come from interior more this year too. And we might actually blitz and mix up the coverages more. Opposing offenses have alot to worry about.

We'll see how much was talent in 2018-2020 and how much was bad coaching pretty quickly. Plus they clearly added more talent in 2021 to the defense but its young so could take some time too.

I'm going to save this right here to reference back to this season.

I can actually FEEL Sean McVay, Matt LeFleur and Kyle Shannahan getting nervous.

Stafford won't win a thing.

This year or ever? What is your definition of "a thing"? Division title? Playoff game? Conference Championship? Super Bowl?

I've always thought Stafford was better than the numbers he posted in Detroit. I've never really been shy about making that known.

I'm willing to bet we'll see in playing in a Super Bowl within the next three years. After that, his window will likely have passed, both as a player and as a Ram (the big cap hits and the stunning lack of draft picks they have over the next three years will make it REALLY hard for them to stay competitive long term).

I guess this will finally be the year people can tell what Stafford is. No more if this and if that......he has a defense, a solid running game, a top tier OC and will be on a team with Super Bowl expectations for the first time. At 32 is he a late bloomer like Elway or is he just an above average QB with a cannon arm?

NFL RBs, TEs and QBs are licking their chops seeing 2 slow asses out trying to cover space in the flats. Lions defense has a lot to worry about.

On another note i watch some stafford highlights from last year. It was like a full 5 minutes of him carving up Anzalone. That turd sucks so bad. So no coverage in the flats by 2 fat slow DEs playing OLB. And no support inside with fucking Thor, the dumbest avenger who cant cover worth a lick.
