2022 Off-Season

Chark, Hock and St Brown are good too. No denying that just need healthy. And the Oline looks really good and the run game is solid. Maybe one more receiver in the draft for the future. Goff will have what he needs barring major injuries

I don't think Chark is good. He might be a decent #2 and St Brown a good #3

When I say St Brown is a good #3...I mean REALLY good #3. He has potential to be a stud possession receiver

Goff is not much of a difference maker, he won?t come out a dominate a game, but he also won?t implode. Not exactly what you want for $31 mil. They were basically stuck with him this year so I understand, at least he?s serviceable enough.

Honestly wouldn?t mind keeping him around at a heavily reduced rate, but would not be happy if they decided to re-sign him at his current rate (or higher).

Chark has number 1 talent, size and speed X receiver. 1,000 yard 8 TD season under his belt. He can do that for Detroit if healthy

St Brown is productive like a number 2 and can be used outside and slot. I like Reynolds with Goff too as the Z and Cephus has potential too

They'll add one more in draft and it should be a good unit with health

I wouldn't call him trash. He's a middle of the road QB.

He?s trash. The bum was benched for John Wolford in a playoff game, fact. Then traded to Det and us fans were calling for DC to bench his ass for David Blough a month into the season.

This team will never be anything as long as Goff is the starting QB. As Randy Moss would say, straight trash, homie!

Kupp, Woods, Reynolds?s was/is 100x better and he couldn?t get it done w those guys. What makes you think he can w our receiving Core?

He showed improvement last year at end with less help. You don't always play the same every year. See 2017 and 2018 too

We'll get you out of that time warp from 2020 someday. He got hurt too which led to a benching and not rushing him back. He played in the divisional game then against Green Bay

I think people underestimate St Brown. I see him as a productive #1. St Brown is cold. Holmes found gold w that pick.

Showed improvement at the end of his 6th season on a 3-win team. You like that?

He was benched for John Wolford and only played in the divisional game and against GB because Wolford suffered a neck injury. We traded for a backup to a backup.

He showed ability to play like he did in 2017 and 2018 again. And now Lions added more for him plus the draft

4000 yards is about 234 yards per game (playing all 17) which is middle of the pack (Matt Ryan ranked 15th with 233.4) 28 TDs would have been 10th last year.

Yep. Sounds about right. I think his ceiling is slightly above average. I?d be happy if his rating is above 93 and is QBR is above 53. I think that?s all you can ask of him.

Anything above that is cream cheese.

Lions had 23 passing TDS last year with all that happened injury wise, 3880 yards. I think 4,000 and 28 TDS very much in the cards maybe more for yards

1880 yards rushing and 4.4 YPC. Hope to get up to 2,000 yards rushing at least

8 ints in 14 games for Goff. So 9-10 in 17

1,000 for Chark, 800 for St Brown, 800 for Hock, 500 for Reynolds, 500 for Swift. 3,600 yards right there. Rookie WR, Raymond, Cephus, TE 2, other RBs (Williams, Reynolds, Godwin) what can they add.

About 750 combined from Jamaal Williams Hodge, Benson, Brock Wright, Godwin I, Tom Kennedy and Fells last year which would now be Rookie WR/Raymond/Cephus, Wright/new TE and Williams/Reynolds filling those roles.

And his floor is way below average. He was a backup to the backup in his final games for the Rams. We need to do what the Colts did, acknowledge the mistake, cut ties and move on.

So wait, just so everyone's clear...

You DON'T like Goff then?

Not much outside of St Brown, Sewell(o-line as a whole) and maybe Swift on this team that I do like. And we?re bringing everyone back from a 3-win team to repeat. That?s what I don?t like.

Doesn't mean they will repeat 3 wins. It's still part of the rebuild process. Relax, Campbell got a 6 year contract. He has time to dick around

Harris and Walker did well too and deserved brought back. Reynolds too

Anzalone a mistake but doesn't mean he starts yet. Davis is techincially an addition too. Both super cheap. Up to Barnes to improve too. New ILB coach even. Dion Hamilton got hurt in camp and offers ST too.

Chark was an addition replacing Ty Williams which failed with injury. Board too replaces JRM. Hughes too (could upgrade over Parker and of course waste of Dunbar last year)

Romeo Okwara, Okudah and Ragnow are basically additions as well and 2 are proven good players and one talented

Draft incoming with 5 picks in top 100

That?s the problem, LKP. You and many others are so custom to losing you?ve learned to accept it. You?d rather play for another high draft pick than play for a division title. Only a few teams in the NFL would this be acceptable, year after year and we?re one of them.

How many more years in a row are you ok w picking in the top 10, LKP? Let?s get that out there, we?re already 4yrs in a row going into next season?I?m really curious what your answer will be.

I think they'll win and improve.

I don't know why you think players are caught in some situation where they play the same from an exact point in time.

Lions upgraded through health and other additions on smart contracts. This coaching staff I have faith can actually develop players. And the plan is to build through the draft with one draft coming up soon and plenty of draft capital

They can compete for playoffs this year but it will be difficult. Alot of improvement will need to happen but it can.

I don't think they'll pick top 10 next draft

So given your statement above I think you would agree that the organization has been rotten from the top down for awhile?

If the answer is yes, then we shouldn't be asking how many more seasons of top 10 picks are we going to have, we should be asking if this leadership team (Holmes/MCDC) are the right ones to completely gut and rebuild a terrible organization from top to bottom.

If you don't think so, then bash away. But if you do, all the garbage that went before doesn't really matter anymore. The rebuild starts with Holmes and Campbell. They came into the worst roster situation in the NFL, or at least one of the worst. Year one was 3 wins, lots of injuries and lots of learning on the job and lots of changes. They see something in the guys they have retained. In some cases (Anzalone I'd bet) it's a harmless 1 year deal to bring back a guy who doesn't fit the long term plan but is super cheap and familiar with the defensive system. Those are the choices you make when you are doing a frame off restoration.

If year 2 is the same, 3 or 4 wins and no results, then we are back to square one for what seems like the 100th time, and again, bash away. But if year 2 shows 6-8 wins, progression and building on what I think were some positives last year, then another pick inside the top 10 (if we finish say 6-11) wouldn't really bother me too much.

You act as if they can waive a magic free agency wand and make this roster instantly better. It is going to take time. How much time it's already taken is completely irrelevant.

Unless a team loses their starting QB for a significant amount of time, never count on a team "upgrading through health". Teams will always have significant injuries.
