If the Rangers yack up the division I'm going to laaaaaauuuuuugggh...

Who here is not pulling for a Rangers-Yankees play-in? This new arrangement has introduced an unforeseen brand of schadenfreude.

I thought they had changed this but a Balt win tonight with a Yankee loss means a game between the two on Thursday to decide the division winner.

Yeah and there's bad blood between these two teams. I'd like to see all their stars get HBP's and play banged up the whole playoffs...like WE did last year...

Updated

The playoff seeding is set (barring the best comeback ever by a team that already mailed it in)

NY clinches the 1st seed and plays the wild card winner
Detroit plays Oakland
Texas hosts Baltimore (Texas has the head-to-head advantage) for the wild card

I will continue to update this thread throughout the playoffs, which will include schedules and results

I want to thank you for the thread all year long. It was very helpful..

Was hopen we could of seen a Tigers vs Yankees playoff series again. but i guess ill take the A's.

I just hope those Rangers bite the dust.

Winning the first two games at Comerica will be imperative. Trying to go into the Coliseum with that ravenous crowd having to win any more than 1 out of 3 will be difficult if not damn near impossible...

It's going to depend on the offense, the A's are a surprise team but are starting rookie pitchers, if the offense shows up I think we'll be okay, if we have these 1 run games dragging on for 7 innings, we'll be in trouble.

The stupid format they have this year is just stupid. The worse team gets home field first, lol. If Detroit wins 2 at home, advantage them - always harder to win 3 in a row. If they split at home, winning 2 of 3 on the road will be tough.

And they only have game times for game 1 right now. Verlander starting for us Oakland TBD. All others TBD as well...why? Verlander-Fister-Scherzer for the first three...has to be...

Dickerson said Scherzer might be game 4 starter.

Because it will likely be an elimination game, and they would rather have Scherzer in it than Sanchez.

The way dickerson mentioned it would likely be because of rest, etc, was JV, Sanchez, Fister, Scherzer.

If Fister goes game 2 it will only be 4 days rest, and Sanchez will have gone 7 days without pitching.

And all division series games are on TBS. Oh joy. I hope Smoltz does our series, at least.

Then Dickerson is one dumb fool. Possible elimination game? That's all he's got. Game 3 could be elimination day as well or game 5?
