Cabrera vs Trout

Oh...I didn't see what you were trying to say. I do give Miggy credit for moving to 3b but it's not like he moved to a position that he never played before and it's not like he is playing lights out over there (although I think he is better than I thought he would be).

What was that 4-5 years ago? And I don't have any pictures to back me up but isn't Miggy bigger than than 2006?

He didn't play 1B until 2008 when he came to the Tigers. In FL he played corner OF and 3B. He started at 3B when he got here but they moved him to 1B after about 15 games.

steals usually are really overvalued, but trout has stolen 48 bases to only 4 CS...an awesome %, one that doesnt hurt the team (I think the cutoff is like 85%?)

This is how I look at it: Trout has had the better overall year than Miggy factoring in defense, baserunning, etc. But noone will EVER convince me that he has been more Valuable to the Angels than Miggy has been to the Tigers. The Angels still have fucking Pujols ffs, and with the Angels and Tigers both fighting for playoff spots, Trout has fallen off hugely while Miggy has caught on fire.

Plus the writers still owe us for fucking Miggy out of the MVP when Coke-head won it after missing like fucking 2 months of the season, including sept.

Fielder has been better than Pujols this year.

So has Austin Jackson.

So has Verlander.

If we were to merge the Tigers and Angels, Trout is the only Angels player that would be in the top 5 on the team.

And Scherzer and Fister would probably come in at 6th and 7th, then would be Pujols and Hunter.

The Tigers have much more top end talent than the Angels.

I got that, which is why I said 4-5 years.

Doesn't mean he's more valuable. I bet they have a better LF, RF, probably middle IF and BP. And C. It all works out.

Didn't say it did, was merely refuting the point that Trout having Pujols provides him some advantage when Cabrera has a much stronger supporting cast of stars.

I'm not sure how his season numbers have went but hasn't Pujols better much better after his horrid start? So I'm sure he helped a little bit. And Miggy doesn't get helped by JV or Fister etc. So as far as supporting cast, not much difference.

supporting cast of stars means nothing in baseball....it's 1-9 I would take the Angels every day players over the Tigers every day players all day long. As a group they are better offensively and SIGNIFICANTLY better defensively.

He's been better sure, but not what you'd expect from Pujols.

Austin Jackson has been pretty much equal to Pujols at the plate this season.

you want some stats as to why cabrera wins?

How about down the stretch, when both teams were fighting for their playoff lives:

Trout's august: .294/.366/.500/.866 7 hr, 9 rbi

cabrera's august: .357/.429/.663/.1.092 8 hr, 22 rbi

trout's september: .257/.380/.455/.836 5 hr, 6 rbi

cabrera's september: .308/.378/.654/1.036 10 hr, 27 rbi

that's why cabrera is mvp, he carried his team to the playoffs, while trout choked.

Unfortunately, I still think it's going to be very close. There's probably a lot of people who don't want to see it stay in Detroit.

I know. I have heard that Trout was supposed to be the can't miss prospect but there was going to be a signability issue. That never stopped the Tigers before!

Actually this was not the case. Trout was under scouted because he was from the northeast (New Jersey specifically). He hadn't been seen a lot and was only high on the radar of a handful of teams, one of which was the LAA. Signability was never an issue with him.

Miggy wins the triple crown, the MVP is a fn LOCK. He should win it regardless....

Take that shit to the bank!!

Oakland wins tonight, the Angels miss the playoffs and Trout won't win the MVP then
