Different players, coaching and scheme. Not much matters from the past 20 years when assessing this secondary. And they didn't suck last year (average is the correct term)
Mathis/Quin back. Assets
Slay year 2 in a scheme that fits him.
Add Ihedigbo.
Naw 63-65% will work.
Whatever the article says is irrelevant to your initial statement on this thread, which revolves around the words that left Calvin's mouth. That is what we are talking about.
And he's wrong you moron. No one in their right mind would take a guy off CJ and put them on anyone else we have. As someone said above, Ebron might get a completion on single coverage, CJ might get you a TD.
First...they were below average. Second, 3 out of the 4 are back and the other is just average. Us saying they will be similar to last year is more accurate than you saying they will be good. We have historical evidence...you are hoping that they will gel and be good.
he has only completed over 60% once in his career.
Tony...big picture buddy. We were 3rd in passing offense last year. How the fuck more improved do you actually think were going to get?? We needed to improve in other areas this offseason.....and our brilliant gm decided to improve the 1 thing we were statistically good at last year and neglect everything else except olb and backup center....whippidity doo.
You're a fn retard. Calvin is wrong now too?? Fn gimp
Stay focused. It's not about the center. It's about the garbage surrounding our QB last year.
Tony, did anyone actually argue that is why those guys were brought here? I think that goes without saying...
The argument that was interpreted by your thread is that because Calvin is SAYING it, that it will actually happen. That premise is false, because no one knows how any team will gameplan for the Lions. We don't know if Ebron is going to be any good, so assuming teams will stop doubling Calvin is not logical.
51 targets for Ogletree/Ross/Edwards/Dickerson
86 targets for Durham
Killed Stafford's greatness. Not this year. Those fuckers stay on the bench.
The premise isn't false. Players like Ebron and Tate will require doubleteams at times. Not all the time, but some of the time. Players like Durham, Ogletree even Pettigrew didn't. Tate and Ebron should.
You have to add CJ in somewhere..no one has a CJ or even close to a CJ. Yet they don't put up putrid numbers..
Calvin gets doubled. It hurts the completion percentage. And he had a drop problem last year (broken fingers)
However, Calvin is awesome and can produce massive numbers with less completions. Stafford is still making the plays allowing Calvin to do this. Completions are good throws.
I'd rather have multiple weapons than just a Calvin. Now we have Calvin and multiple weapons. It's the best case scenario finally.
And any QB with multiple weapons like Rodgers (Cobb/Nelson/Jones) and Cutler (Marshall/Jeffrey/Bennett/Forte) had an advantage over Stafford. Not anymore. Finally advantage Stafford.
You forget one thing..he's Rodgers and Staff is well Staff. That's like comparing Marino to half of a Marino.
He has no clue. I remember when big Mike Williams was suppose to be a stud. You have no idea, nor CJ, what he does. Or as far as what defenses do. It makes no sense to single Calvin and double a rook te.
Stafford is just as talented. Stafford finally gets the multiple weapon advantage too. Big numbers for Stafford this year. Can't wait.
please....Stafford is nowhere near on Rodgers' level. Not even close!
