Coaching Search Recap

so I take it you disagree with me? lol. Sorry, I don't think paying decker a shit ton of money to come here would fix Stafford. Its just what I see...

I never said Eric Decker would "fix" Stafford. I like Decker but i hope the Lions dont break the bank on him. Someone is going to though.

Whatever the Lions do, you will put a negative spin on it, always.

I really don't get how you blame Stafford more than Durham/Ogletree. That boggles my mind. One has produced in past seasons and produced to other WRs (Calvin, Nate, the RBs, 2011 Titus, Broyles the 4 games he was healthy, even Pettigrew had a couple 700 yard years with similar targets that Durham got)

I agree before that the excuse was Best was out and we need a speed RB. So we got Bush. Now we need a #2, so we'll get that. Like I said if he can't succeed with that and a quarterback friendly coach. It's over.

shit...if that's all we need to be a consistent playoff team then lets just draft a WR in every round! lol

rd1 Marqise Lee (Watkins gone)
rd 2 Donte Moncrief (Jordan Mathews gone)
rd 3 Brandon Coleman (Beckham jr or Cooks if you want more of a slot/speed guy)

BOOM Stafford is all pro and were going to the super bowl bitches!

cause ogletree has produced with even tony romo as his qb. then he comes here and does squat?

Doesn't mean he is good. Durham got the playing time. Ogletree really only played with Calvin out. Week 5, he was barely just added. Week 17 he did produce some.

If anything caused the Vikings loss, it's the 5 sacks and the poor running game. No turnovers, Stafford 66%

so let me get this straight:

ogleetree is to blame....but he doesn't get the play time so its not fair to say Stafford is the reason hes not producing more than when he was with tony romo

broyles didn't produce because he was injured....eventhough he was in the game with pads on....and didnt do anything

Burlesons cap is a 700 yd WR in an offense the throws the ball 500+ times a year for nearly 5000 yards.

and you agree that durham is just plain garbage.

that about right?

Durham gets alot of blame and Ogletree gets it for not beating out Durham
.

700-800 yards. Given his targets, it's good for Burleson. You can't just gloss by saying total attempts but you have to look deeper to the targets.

Broyles injury hurt without Burleson and put Durham on the field more. As did Burleson injury as did Calvins injury.

Give Stafford a number 2, like Decker or Reggie Wayne(who Peyton paired with Marvin Harrison), give him a number 2 and he'll be elite.

Draft a DT in 2015. Might not be as good as Suh, but draft pick plus money to get a player or two could work out better. Too much money for three players is never a good idea.

this is why I think we could go pay for decker and hed catch like 40 passes. I don't think he gets the targets here. Again, new system could change that....but its yet to be seen.

Durham had 86 target without really getting open to much. Burleson had 53 in 9 games. 5.8 per game. Decker is better than Burleson.

Only a 60 % catch rate 5.8*.6=3.48 receptions per game. That's 55 receptions over 16 games. 65% is 60 receptions.

And Decker is better than Burleson and that was a very modest 60% catch rate. Decker could be 65% or higher. Heck Burleson had a 73% catch rate.

So he didn't get open much yet our idiot QB threw it to him 86 times. Lol.

Calvin doubled(or out of game), no dump down, Pettigrew covered. Got to throw it somewhere and keep defenses somewhat honest. You want 40 more forces to Calvin. 9 picks intended for Calvin by the way.

Get a good number 2 WR so it's not a force.

Get drop rate to normal 5% and not 9% and get a good number 2. Stafford upper 60% completion.

Where is this talent I keep hearing about, everybody is either covered or drops the ball. And I thought Bush made it so Calvin couldn't be double covered.

Bush makes you pay for doubling Calvin. Bush drops balls though. So does Calvin this year. And Durham plus his lack of separation.

If Stafford was elite you could trade away calvin....ie patriots getting rid of Moss. But Stafford isn't elite so ontop of calvin you need x y and z ontop of calvin. Im telling you...were catering way to much to this kid to ever be considered a good "team." And he still isn't getting the job done. Ill be the first one rooting for him if he ever figures it out....but its just not happening right now.

Brady still had Gronk, Welker, Hernandez, and Branch when Moss was dealt

Here it's CJ and a bunch of garbage

I'd actually like to see if Stafford's numbers would improve with no CJ but a bunch of average to above average receivers.

I don't think Stafford is elite, but I can't really compare the two organizations. NE was still capable of fielding talented receivers without Moss, that's not the case here in Detroit with Mayhew and co.

Munchak and Kubiak down

Shanahan, Schiano, Frazier, and Chudzinski left to go

Maybe they should re-interview Schwartz while they're at it

Marinelli always has a shovel ready.
