Ferguson, MO

this is still going on, apparently.

there was a march in Ferguson calling for the police chief to resign.

he showed up, and marched with the protestors... for a couple seconds, before his bully boys started cracking heads. All accounts say the police actions were unprovoked.

Gov. Nixon (great name, and ironically, he's a Democrat) declares state of emergency prior to the announcement from the grand jury investigation, which is expected at any time... link. Presumably, since this paticular Grand Jury has been plagued with leaks from the start, the authorities are well aware it's going to recommend no charges for officer Wilson.

Fortunately, it's going to be freezing fucking cold. In an ironic twist, climate change may help to tamp down the violence. The other thing that may help to keep things (relatively) calm is that responsible citizens of all stripes have had time to prepare.:bat:

I wonder if any of the cardinals fans are going to be wearing their Wilson #6 jerseys this week?

Doubtful. Like I said, they've had time to prepare. The smart ones will be wearing Mossberg, Remington or Winchester. Smith and Wesson would be well chosen accessories.

Right, no better way to deal with the problem than to just start shooting.

Oh wait, that's how the whole mess got started in the first place, right?

Moron.

Start shooting? Not at all. Be smart, be prepared, that's all. It's a great deterrent.:bat:

time to prepare to defend themselves against police violence? yeah, I hope so.

I suppose in your Fox News world of simplistic partisan politics & bigotry that means something?

Just like sanford, you libs seem to blame it on republicans, look at the political ads that were
r un months ago....

Not blaming Republicans...

Racist policing, excessive use of force, frequent use of deadly force, the militarization of police, and the abuse of emergency powers to curtail the constitutional rights of the citizens and press are non-partisan issues, as far as I know.

Until all the facts are disclosed, do we really know if excessive force was used by the police in this case, not talking about the violent protests

We know the police stopped two kids for jaywalking, and that escalated into one of them being shot 6 times, or whatever.

Even the police chief admitted the earlier incident and the shooting were unrelated.

So I say let the justice system play out, and stop the conviction of the police officer in the media and elsewhere, from the facts u listed we know nothing

decision is in from the grand jury

Let's see if they decide not to file charges on an officer who shoots an unarmed man 6 times from a minimum of 30ft away.

I'd hate to be a cop. Just no good way to handle it..
from what I understand there was an altercation in the car where deadly force was justified. He ends up shooting him after they're both out of the car and brown is a minimum of 30 ft away from Wilson unarmed. All witnesses say that brown was not charging Wilson, some say he was standing still some say he was staggering.

I do feel for Wilson in that your adrenaline is pumping in that situation and you're not thinking straight.

Unless some earth shattering new information comes out you'd think he should be charged with manslaughter at a minimum.

Anderson Cooper is out there on the street...does anybody think he's going to get clonked on his head with a Molotov cocktail?
