Game 15: Lions @ Bears Thread

You focus on me and not Hughes and the others who immediately bashed the team after the win. I point those same things out as you did, but I'm thbraine one you chose to tear into. That speaks volumes.

Some of us come on here to share in the good and the bad, but on here after this game it was constant bashing of Stafford instead of celebrating the win and chance at 12-4.

Look at the thread 'Fun stat of the day'. Yet, you aren't on there ripping into Hughes. I was just posting a fun, pretty insignificant thought, but it gets ripped apart. The negativity is fucking ridiculous.

Maybe because im not the one being the douchebag and whining like a little bitch? Why would he rip into me? All i said is we didnt pkay well....anyone with half a brain can see that.

In the fun fact thread I listed a Fact....its not me being negative...it is what weve become. A great defense and shitty offense.

But its not who they are....you have no idea who they are vs good teams because we havent played any. We beat gb on a down week from arod. And thats about it. We got smoked by a good ne team. 1 win vs .500 or better teams. if we play like this in the playoffs we will get blown out. Maybe we squeek out a win playing like crap...maybe we dont. But to equate most of us having a realistic viewpoint of how poorly our offense has played to beating girlfriends makes you a fucking idiot.

You think were playing well? Keep thinking that. ..but youre wrong.

Lions teams of the past rarely were able to take advantage of a good opponent playing poorly against them. They still would manage to find a way to SDFTJOV. Not posting that this team will get lucky in the playoffs and be matched up vs any team that will shit the bed, but IF they do, maybe they can win that game for a change.

And honestly this happens in every board here pertaining to a team and everywhere in the entire world. You ever read game threads? It's basically this:

"Son of a *** why..stupid drop"
"You suck Stafford"
"Ooh good throw"
"Nice run by Bush"
"stupid Bush"
"Really, 4 missed tackles"
"down to these bums"
"Nice tackle"
"where the fk is Suh"
"Nice sack Suh"
"Stafford sucks"
"Damn man, can't believe you dropped that"
"Good throw and catch"
"Fuck"
"Yes"
"Shit"
"Oh yeah"

This happens in all of 5 minutes .. It's sports.

And there it is!!! Why when we played the Fudgepackers, that Rodgers was having a down week? Maybe our defense was the reason why Rodgers didn't do squat...just maybe.

Cause I watched the game and saw him incomplete pass after pass with no pressure. All I said is he had an off game....do you disagree? Please explain...

We played an extremely weak schedule. Fact.

We beat alot of very poor teams. Fact.

We barely beat alot of very poor teams. Point diff says thats a fact.

You guys can twist it into me being negative all you want....itll still be what happened.

We beat gb at home and arod sucked ass.

Oh, i watched it too. I saw a defense that had Rodgers head reeling. They sacked him a couple times i think and got pressure most of the day. They couldn't run or throw on us. Great gameplan, Austin and even more kudos to the players for executing it.

Sure wasn't a weak schedule in August. Fact

Never apologize for wins. Fact.

We still beat those suppisedly poor teams. Fact

We folded a top notch offense and made ARod look pedestrian. Live with it.

Our defense is great. Fact.
Our offense is poor. Fact.
We DID play a weak schedule. Fact.
We took advantage of that weak schedule, unlike last year. Fact.
We won most of the games we were supposed to win. Fact.
We lost to most of the teams we expected to beat us. Fact.

That adds up to playoffs. Maybe next year when we face better divisions and possibly two more division champs it'll be different. But I don't care. I want to win now, even if the stats say we won't, even if the power rankings don't like us, even if we have to play on the road, even if we haven't beaten a quality team on the road in 100 years. I'm going to enjoy this. When the facts change next year, I'll live with the result.

get ready for this mind blowing statement. Are you ready? Typically when you lose.....your team didn't play well. Omgffogmffg can you believe that guys? Rodgers doesn't pass all over us..and we beat him! I know this is something new for everyone. But let's settle down here..I don't want to put too much on all of ya...let's take it all in...when players don't play well..they lose...we got this?

And I know everyone here hates on lkp with his if this happened then this is what we are..but honestly, it is no fucking different than people like Hughes who do it the other way...the rodgers missing a throw is a perfect example of the same reasoning in the opposite direction.

So when we win they've played well? All of them?

Caldwell on Stafford:

“I think there’s a lack of appreciation for him around here, I think, at times,” Caldwell said, via the Detroit Free Press. “Let me just tell you something: He’s a man’s man. He’s a tough guy. He gets hit out there every single ballgame, he hangs in there, and there may be one he’d like to have back, but then there’s a couple others, or one other that’s probably not all his fault.”

?I think there?s a lack of appreciation for him around here, I think, at times,? Caldwell said, via the Detroit Free Press. ?Let me just tell you something: He?s a man?s man. He?s a tough guy. LOL...doesn't every QB get hit every week? We can all appreciate that NFL QBs have to be tough. You can't get drilled and get up every week by guys bigger than you every week if you are not a tough person.

Stafford knows he screwed up. The problem everyone is having is he has yet to show an ability to learn from those mistakes. Granted Caldwell and Lombardi have reigned him in and tried to tame him, so he has fewer INTs this year in total, but they also have him throwing fewer passes so that is a bit misleading. His INT% is currently 2.1, the best of his full seasons (do the short seasons need to be taken into account?), is just under his first 2 full seasons. Granted last year he was at 3.0, so he has improved from last year at least.

Still, Peyton this year is at 2.7% (4 INTs yesterday). Peyton though has multiple seasons with sub 2.0 INT %. Brady has multiple sub 2.0 % seasons. Seems being under 2.0% is an important factor in being a top QB. Hopefully Stafford gets more comfortable in the offense next year (or better yet, during the playoffs this year) and finally gets under 2.0 (let's face it, there is a very slim chance the Lions fire Lombardi after this year).

Caldwell has to be a writer's nightmare. He gives you little information and when he does talk it is nothing but basic coach speak.

I think the price of Gas is going to continue to decline all the way to .99c, you think i'm crazy? well do ya bitches!
