Game 3: Broncos @ Lions *Sunday Night* Thread

Lets put it another way. How many people marked thus game as a probable loss before the season started? In YOUR predictions for the season, you did. So why are you so surprised that people are projecting this as a blowout loss now that the D has proven to be bottom 5 instead of top 5 while the O has the worst OC in the NFL even by your own words.

Really not understanding why you are calling people out on this game. If it was another bottom feeder that people were saying would be a blowout, then they would deserve being laughed at and derided. Fans being realistic is not deserving of criticism. Lions have shown nothing to be optimistic about going into thus game.

That said, Any Given Sunday still applies....but that is a small probability and not realistic enough to warrant optimism. Hope, sure. We are all hopeful the Lions can pull off the upset.

I never "called out" anyone lol. Wtf are you talking about?

Cause tony likes to bitch and say the opposite of status quo just so he can argue, say fn a bunch of times and call people names. He'll even change his mind 3 times just so he can argue and bitch about multiple peoples viewpoints. In general hes just a very angry person.

Bahahahahaaaaaaa. Angry? I have never changed my mind on anything. You're just too dumb to understand anything i say. I always said i didn't like the Ebron pick but i understood it. Lombardi wants to run his offense through his TE. It's quite simple really, but like i said before....you're a dummy.

Can anybody truly think that last year didn't have everything to do with #90?

I honestly think Levy being out is hurting us worse than Suh being gone. We need a play maker at the 2nd level, Levy is one of the best in the league. Only because I think Walker and Ngata make an above average NFL DT duo. Where as the LBs we have replacing Levy are far below average for the NFL.

Pretty easy to see last night which team prepared better which team played smarter. If a game where a few plays decided at least 10 points lions players and coaches were schooled... it also really hurts when we have a veteran qb who is a mental midget. . Do not get me started on the weakest link Joe Lombardi. . That guy is clueless.

This is a great post.

You can say getting outcoached every once in a while is going to happen.....to everyone. But we are getting outcoached in multiple aspects (knowledge of penalties, x's & o's, discipline) EVERY FUCKING WEEK. Stafford isn't getting it done. Oline is terrible. Lombardi has no business keeping his job.

0-3 is the result. 0-5 is likely. 4-12 is probable (because we get Chicago twice).

I'm disappointed more than angry. I really thought '15 was going to be a really good year for the Lions. Now, more than likely, we will have to start over with a new coaching staff in 2016.

I agree with that 100%

Suh would have had little effect against SD or Denver as neither hurt us running the ball and both teams had success with the short passing game.

Suh's loss will hurt us eventually......but I don't think it has as much as Levy's has so far.

I agree with everything except for coaching staff. Caldwell isn't going anywhere and Austin is somewhat getting a pass. No Levy, no Suh and a project DLine. Lombardi is gone though.....wouldn't be surprised if he gets the boot halfway through the season...

Me too.. I really thought in year two if Joe's system Matt would take the next step finally .. if you watched one play last night it should be Collinsworth explaining how Manning change his pass protection and avoided the sack and completed the pass...Mart misses so manu blitzes that are in his face it's not funny anymore

I think Austin is the only one we should keep.

Fuck it.......give him the head coaching gig......as long as he agrees to fire Lombardi and bring in someone who would use the personel we have effectively. Stafford hasn't been good......im certainly not making any excuses for him.......but Lombardi is trying to make a gunslinger, downfield passing type QB into Drew Brees......a controlled, accurate, short passing game genius.

Hey, guess what Lombardi........it isn't working.

I'll put it like this. If we're going to go down......lets go down swinging. The old saying in baseball is "get beat with your best pitch".......we'll........we're getting beat with our 4th best pitch.

Lombardi's offense is so bad.....we aren't even giving our players a chance to be successful. He is not letting them do what they do best. CJ is a downfield monster......Stafford is a gunslinger.......Abdullah is our best RB.

Lombardi is trying to make CJ into Colston......Stafford into Brees......and the RB by committee is FUCKING STUPID.

FUCK YOU LOMBARDI.

(I feel better)!!!

Caldwell has two years left on his contract, the Ford's are not going to eat that money. Plus they have been shown to be loyal to a fault, no way they can a guy after two seasons. Especially since they were in the playoffs 1 year.

We are most likely stuck with Stafford in 2016 too. I don't see Caldwell starting a rookie, unless we have a top 4 pick. This is why I wanted to draft someone like Brett Hundley this year. Guess I'll need to get on the trade for Jimmy Garoppolo train.

Lombardi should be fired today

I feel ya, but unless the Lions go 0-16, Caldwell is staying. 11 wins last year. If this shit keeps up and it looks like it might, then Caldwell needs to fire Lombardi. Somebody needs to take the fall for this debacle lol.

I disagree. I think if we win fewer than 6 games Caldwell is gone.

No idea why......just my thoughts.

Of course, I though Ausmus would be canned in the next 6 days........so what do I know!!

This organization is too loyal. Not happening.

I don't even want to get into the Ausmus talk. How that putz kept his job is mind boggling

Caldwell stays if Mayhew stays but I am not so sure Mayhew stays. The Lions are to loyal that's what will save Mayhew though.

You don't need to be a great QB or even a good QB. Just a consistent solid QB. People say he's top 10, maybe top 13. He's top 25, in-fact I'd put him in the 20-25 range. He stinks. It should never take until week 3 of season 7 until someone realizes he's not good.

Tim hasselbeck did a little thing on Stafford this morning. he basically said what weve been saying for years....." A LITTLE AWARENESS PLEASE!!!!" on his fumble. Pocket opens wide open.....plenty of space to run for some yards on 1st down. He pulls it back down with a DE right next to him then reloads with a DE right next to him. Guy has the awareness of a dog chasing a cat across the street.

His internal clock is shit. That play felt like it went on for 15 seconds. Manning at 39 has such a better grasp of pocket presence, knowing where to move and when to step up.

Here's what Caldwell was brought in to do.

Fix Stafford's footwork, pocket awareness, cut down on turnovers, eliminate costly mistakes, eliminate dumb penalties. Check check check oh you better believe that's a check. Well at least Mayhew identified the right mistakes that need fixing.
