Interesting Detroit Stats

Nope, but he did fumble the ball into the defenders hands to with game on the line.

So Calvin couldn't hang on to a ball and assisted in that INT and Stafford had 3 others. I think the blame for that game is on Stafford for his 4 picks!

Which one ended the game though? Was that a bad throw? U blind, or just a fanboy? Quarterbacks are going to be blamed for losses, that's a given. Is just bs that CJ is given a pass for basically handing the game to the other team in the closing seconds.

Actually, it was a big hit that caused the ball to come loose. That is a credit to the safety. The QB typically gets most of the blame in losses (when they have 4 INTS) and most of the credit in the wins (when they have a great game). That's just how it works!

I get that, just saying Stafford gave the Lions a chance to win that game, and a player couldn't hold onto the ball, so the game was lost. Does it comfort everybody when I don't mention the players name? Or does it still offend you guys that Calvin Johnson let a win slip out of his hands?

Against Dallas, CJ was a beast with his 329 yards but it was all Stafford because he "won us the game" with the QB sneak. Get real. A RB who rushed for -104 yards on 30 carries but as long as he got the key first down..lol.

I'm sorry Barry, just cause you had over 200 yards it was those Jason Hanson FG's that did it..

The one guy made two plays. The throw for a first down fumbled by the white guy and the throw into the redzone lost by the robot.

Tampa and everyones precious Seattle went to OT by the way in Seattle.

No you don't.

None of those passes for 329 yards were on target or good decisions? All Calvin?

The QB made game winning plays against the Bucs despite 3 bad ints thrown. You can ignore them if you want. I think it's cool we can turn the ball over 5 times to 0 and still almost win a game. Shows the Lions got some talent. Mistake prone talent but talent.

Not me...I'm not a fan of individual players. I like watching great players but if the Lions could trade ANY player on the Lions that would make the team better I'm all for it. If the Lions traded CJ...say to the Browns for a 2 first round picks & Josh Gordon I would be fine.

1) Browns would never do that. Gordon is pretty good. Definitely not two 1sts on top of Gordon.
2) Gordon needs a new big deal
3) The cap hit for trading Calvin would be 29 million thus killing our cap room. Calvin's number is 13 million next year.

Haha. Okay how about he make less impressive throws and quit throwing it to the other team.

it was just a hypothetical...I was just pointing out that I would rather have a situation that is good for the Lions vs. allegiance to any individual player.

Alright I'll tell him to stop making game winning throws and be a game manager. 15 PPG here we come.

You can be a game manager and score more..you don't need to sling it 50 a game. Now I'm not sure we have the players to warrant that but you're stuck on PPG too much. I guess Stafford is better than Brees, eh?

Not all Stafford, but yeah, I give the man throwing the ball just as much credit as the man catching it. If you want Calvin to get full credit for something, here it is. Calvin Johnson gets full credit for dropping a pass to lose the Tampa game. If Calvin catches the ball and the Lions win that game, does Stafford get a pass? He'll yes he does, as he should, because he came though when the game was on the line. Calvin stripped Stafford of that opportunity, shame on him.

That has nothing to do with it. You blame CJ and only CJ. But forget the mistakes Stafford makes. Just because one was at the end of the game..and the others weren't.

PPG, 3rd down conversions, total first downs, redzone scoring %. All better than New Orleans

The only reason the game was on the line was because Stafford already threw 3 INTs and one was a pick 6. That's like calling someone a hero for saving a dog from a house fire when he was the one that started the fire! Don't start a fire and you don't have to be the hero!

Good plays by Stafford outweigh the bad in that game. 3 bad picks we'll put them on the negative side. -3

Now the good plays

1) Throw to Calvin into redzone to set up game winning score,
2) big first down on 3rd down to Durham in the 4th (that Durham fumbled),
3)Stafford scramble at end of first half for first down on 3rd down (negated by unnecessary Pettigrew hold. 3 points on the line here in a 3 point loss
4) Touchdown pass to Burleson
5) Touchdown pass to Pettigrew
6) Touchdown pass to Fauria
I could go deeper into those drives and bring up plenty of plays he made on these 3 drives.
