Interesting Detroit Stats

The only reason the game was on the line was because Stafford already threw 3 INTs and one was a pick 6. That's like calling someone a hero for saving a dog from a house fire when he was the one that started the fire! Don't start a fire and you don't have to be the hero!

Good analogy. Very true, but it still does not justify dropping passes, which have plagued the Lions this year. If Calvin is the best in the league he needs to make those catches, period. Stafford was at fault for being in that situation, but he was also the reason the Lions were still in the game.

The only reason the game was close was because of Stafford too.

Question for everybody on here. Do the Lions win games in spite or because of Stafford? Is this teams success on his shoulders or does it really rely on CJ? Honestly hope that one day Stafford is surrounded by solid receivers and not a superstar receiver. I think only then will we know what Stafford is.

Stafford is on the money to Calvin a ton and knows how to find him and manipulate the safeties. We lost so much with Calvin and a different QB. We lost so much when Stafford struggled in 2012 compared to 2011 and 2013. We were leading in all 3 games he played in 2010 until he went out. Stafford wins games with alot of help from Calvin, help that Stafford is able to take advantage of with alot of good throws.

The jump balls actually hinder more than help. They are worth the risk though because of the TDS.

In the bag because Stafford was awesome. It's in the bag if Houston wasn't hurt too.

no....you can't be awsome when you throw 3 to the wrong team and one gives the other team a TD. That is not awsome unless you are a TB fan.

Throwing 3 TDs and a game winning throw is awesome.

This team wins/loses because of Stafford, we've had Calvin for years and we sucked big fat donkey nuts. Look at Fitz in Ari, they weren't shit with him until they got someone who can get him the ball, same goes for Johnson in Hou. What makes Millen an even bigger idiot when taking 4 WR's in round 1 is that we had no QB to get them the ball. Stafford isn't the best QB accuracy wise but he can put the ball in spots other QB's can't, sometimes they look off target but his job is to get the ball in a spot were only his WR can make a play and that is what makes him and Tron so dangerous. Doesn't always look pretty but we live and die with Stafford.

Yeah, in 2011. He makes a lot more bad throws than he does in those spots. I've been saying a lot more "what a catch" then "what a throw" in 2013.

that's why I hate mayhew...he was on millens staff and STILL didn't learn how not to draft....he continued to draft high round rb after high round rb with no oline. drafted wr after wr....both are gone. How could you possibly work under the biggest idiot GM the NFL has ever seen and not learn anything? makes him worse than dumb imo....

go watch peytons 4 touchdown throws to decker and tell me honestly how many Stafford would have completed.....id have to say 1....the jump ball. Until his accuracy improves he doesn't belong in the same universe as tom brady, peyton, brees.

I get what your saying but its not even close to the same, a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th for 2 RB's is not the same as 4 1st's for WR's. Also the OL was our strongest position group when he took over which exemplifies how pathetic this team was.

best was a 1st....we were coming off a year where we averaged 0 yards over center and 0 yards to the right....and we use a 1st on a guy with a history of bad concussions....genious.

kevin smith 3rd

leCrap 2nd

plus the trade up for best pick

and the trade up for leshoure pick where we lost value.

titus 2nd

broyles 2nd on a slot with 3 WRs infront of him

Kevin Smith was Millen. Know your history.

Best using a 2nd. Extra 1st.
LeShoure using a 3rd/4th. Extra 2nd.

Mayhew fixed RB and Oline in the same year this year. Didn't take a high pick to fix the Oline or RB, just free agency. 3rd round guard and undrafted righ tackle. It was too early to give up on Gosder in 2010. They should have replaced Peterman before 2011 season but Peterman had a good pass pro season in 2011 and the running game worked with Best. Peterman is a 3rd round pick by Dallas, Warford is a 3rd. There is no magic round to take people.

Hughes go watch the end of the Dallas game and the throws Stafford makes on the winning drive. He is probably the only guy in the game that makes that throw to Durham and one of the few who can make the last pass to calvin. To talk shit about that kids talents is worthless. He has thrown some bad passes the last few weeks but its sometimes judgement and not accuracy issues. Also he has had some bad bounces whether you wan to acknowledge it or not.

The only reason Stafford is 59% and not 63% is because the WRS/Te/RBs (Bush) drop rate has increased. Around 6% in 2011/2012 now 9.5%.

27 TDs 2nd in the league (plus 2 rushing) with lots of long drives needed. With a game manager QB, this team is 2-10
