Let's go get REVIS!!!!!!

i never said were paying CJ too much or that i wanted to trade him. all i said is mayhew blows and even if he was dumb enough to trade a higher salary guy for a bunch of picks....hed fuck up the picks anyways.

I know. I just wanted you to know that all of us know Mayhew sucks with his late round picks.

ding ding ding! we have a winner!

here is my bottom line report card for mayhew:
we have a ton of free agents and not much spending room
we need to sign, resign or draft 8 new starters on defense
were 4-12
what do we CURRENTLY have to show for all the picks weve traded the last 3 years?....whitehead, thomas, sims, best and his mush brain, and an overpriced corey williams most people dont even want on the team.
Did he even sign a free agent last year?
His special teams sucks cause we have no depth cause we never draft after round 4 anymore and when we do pick we pick guys like Hogue that are cut the following year.

lol if your gonna bitch at least get your facts straight. as of now we have given up nothing for whitehead (4th this year) and Thomas(5th next year). All of these trades for players got us a playoff berth and raised expectations. Last year was one of the first years with multiple draft picks in the later rounds Too early to judge but jonte looked good for a 6th rd rook. Oh and we gave up a 7th to move up for best, I know I know that could have been an arian foster type player but hey dems da brakes.

Mayhew is like every other GM with his late round picks. Except in 2010 when Mayhew was a genius getting 5 veterans that really helped the Lions. And with Whitehead, a LB with one year in the scheme already or some rookie 4th round LB. I'll take Whitehead in that scenario against any rookie 4th round prospect you got.

Which brings us back to, why would someone else give him a huge contract and trade players / picks to get him? Face, CJ is getting a big contract anywhere..

If the market would have been a 2nd or 3rd round pick that tells me that nobody would want that contract which in turn tells me that the Lions shouldn't have given it to him.

How do you get a 2nd/3rd round pick. The dudes a beast, he's like Randy Moss or Jerry Rice. CJ is worth a shit load more than a 2nd or 3rd.

stop thinking that it's CJ or stafford...it's the fact that we have 10 million for a guy who's basically useless (kvb)...peterman and raiola are overpaid..burleson has 6 million tied up in him..(hopefully he restructures)...and the biggest problem of alll...i think we have 17 million this year tied up in a DT...granted i like suh i think he is a good player...but DT is generally not a money making position...and 17 million is outrageous for one....i wouldn't be surprised if when he restructures..he makes less than his rookie contract..

Bam. Though I asked this before, once Suh's rookie contract runs its course what kind of deal does a guy like Suh get?

Our cap problems are NOT Mayhew's fault. He did not create the Lions situation before he took charge and did not create the old rookie pay scale....you know...the one where guys got PAID like superstars before they played a down in the NFL. To be honest, he has done a pretty damn good job with the cap considering Staff, CJ and Suh. He is still cleaning up for the Millen years as far as the cap is concerned.

Trading CJ is absolutely NOT going to help us in any way. I would love to see what hughes and wxyz would say if we went into a season with Burelson, Titus, and Thomas as our top 3 WR. That trio wouldn't scare anyone.

)We'll get money to sign the guys we want with a KVB cut, Peterman cut, Stafford extension and Dom/Burleson pay cuts.

2)We will re-sign Houston and Delmas and one starting OLB back, we have Tulloch, both DTs set and we have Bentley/Bartell/Green to fight for the other CB spot. Draft a stud DE and safety. Palmer/Whithead/Lewis can do just as as well as Levy in fact Palmer did last year in 2 wins. The other DE spot is the big issue with Avril overvaluing himself. So they need 3 new defensive starters really, 2 which can come in Round 1/2(De/Safety). We'll see what other DE we get to pair with Young and the rookie top 5 pick and Ronnel Lewis.

3) 4-12 sucked but were are not that bad of a team especially just watching the many many close games. Stafford rebound year like 2011 could fix it alone. We're more of a .500 team really right now based on recent trends. Give me a stud DE, safety, Houston, Delmas back and Detroit can compete for a playoff spot. Stafford is a huge key to that and flipping the turnover differential.

4) Corey Williams was hurt this year and good player in 2010 and 2011. The few games he did play he played well in 2010. Worth the 5th round pick in 2010, no doubt about it. And Mayhew drafted Fairley for the future.

5) Mayhew spent the money last year on Avril, Tulloch, Shaun Hill, Jeff Backus and Jacob Lacey. All free agents. All were worth re-signing at the time and they did a great job to get everybody back they wanted with a tight cap.

6) Logan sucked but the special teams coverage was really good after the bye. Lewis/Whitehead/Palmer/Wendling can all cover on special teams and will get better in year 2. Depth gets rocked when both starting safeties go down at the same time and the 3rd best one(Carey) gets hurt in TC. Same with 2nd/3rd CBs, plus Berry's antics after the draft and your rookie 5th round CB all hurt most of the year. Nobody has enough depth to cover almost everyone getting hurt especially if almost the entire secondary and WR crew gets hurt. Green did a solid job filling in and Bartell had one good game. Florence was a problem after he came back from his stint on IR.

Lions had great depth at DT, tackle, QB, Palmer filled in well for Levy and there was good depth at CB (just a ridiculous number of injuries). Safety no depth but the top 3 safeties got hurt early in the year. Round 2 safety fixes all of that along with Delmas/Carey back healthy. And the Lions didn't give away picks. Many times they gained picks with trade downs. See Jonte Green, see 2009 trade down which gave us a 4th for SLH. At worst they gained a good veteran player like Sims, Houston, Lawrence Jackson, Williams and Hill. And all of those guys were very helpful in 2010 and 2011 and even 2012. This theory you have about the Lions just giving away picks is false and pure stupidity.

i used caps on CURRENTLY so you wouldnt get confused and start talking about 2010 again....ya know....since it was 3 FUCKING years ago. but you went full retard and started talking about 2010 anyways. CURRENTLY all of those guys are either 1) free agents or 2) overpriced veterans that we dont want anymore. except for sims who is the only guy still CURRENTLY on the team and a productive player. The fact you keep arguing that the picks were traded away for blah blah blah doesnt change the fact that they were traded away and we have no depth anywhere...heck most of our starters dont even stack up against the rest of the division let alone the rest of the league. SOOOOoooooo what youre saying is mayhews brilliant plan was to build through trading picks away for other teams cast offs. Good teams build through the draft or free agency....we do neither. Lacey was our prize free agent signing last year?....lol you got to be kidding me.

lol you think i bitch now?.....if he started trading away the only people on the team i enjoy watching and rooting for....welp....id rather be a chargers fan. Theres times organizations need to move on from their superstars like the whole revis thing. i can understand if youre going to absolutely lose the guy the next season and he wants a ton of money you cant afford ...that you trade him to get what you can before hes gone. We dont have any of those people. All of the "superstars" on our team we need to keep on our team. This entire argument is dumb cause hes basically saying 3 high priced rd 1 picks completely ruins your salary cap. It doesnt. Not even close. Id have to say 80% of the teams in the league have 3 high priced guys on their team. Its about managing the avril, kvb, raoila, burlesons, Cw's of the world. Were in cap trouble cause were paying out of our ass for all of those guys that arent very good. Some of them are solid starters.....but they dont deserve what theyre getting.

Dude, LKP is a troll, look at any of his comments on the ESPN blog. It's a pure windup no one is that oblivious.

I've said before numerous times that they should trade Suh. Of the 3, I think he is the most tradeable.

Why would you trade one of the top DT in the league. When he gets older maybe but now isn't the time especially with Avril likely gone, KVB is done and probably Corey Williams.

If I were GM....i wouldn't WANT to trade him. But if the Lions are so strapped financially they can't get deals done then it's an option they should consider IMO.

As far as what I would want in return. Picks. A LOT of draft picks or a top flight young CB..... Richard Sherman for example.

OF THE 3...yes hes the most tradeable since you have fairley and hopefully slh and maybe CW already there. Theres really no reason for all this rotation crap....fairley and suh are young guys that are in great shape...if one of them went away and the other was forced to play more snaps....so be it. Gunt gave the rotation thing a try and everyone on the dline sucked last year lol....so myabe its hindering them more than helpling?...i dunno. i still think theres no reason not to keep both unless it gets to a situation where Suh pulls a titus and we just need to move on at some point.
