Lions 2019 Draft

Josh Allen and Greedy Williams are my Crush. I think we will miss out on Allen...he goes top 3.

Clellin Ferrill or Dandre Baker are my plan B guys.

I’m with you on Allen. That guy is JUST what we need. Allen and Clowney would be amazing. That is my dream scenario. Both offer 4-3 or 3-4 flexibility, too.

I absolutely wouldn’t mind Greedy....but no corner can be great when he has to consistently cover for 5-6 seconds. You want to run an effective man to man scheme.....go get pash rushers!!

agreed totally....

im just weird when it comes to corners...anything out of the 1st round typically a miracle if they become decent. I also have a HATE...and is will use the word HATE ...for Lawson. So those 2 things bias my want for a CB in rd 1. I do agree the need for a quality pass rusher is higher. Which is funny because if i was to grade this years team id say the Kennards, Okwaras of the world actually performed above my expectations. We just need a more consistent presense in the backfield.

Just briefly looking this over...

Best case scenario if the Lions win:

Buffalo beats Miami
NY Giants beat Dallas
Jacksonville beats Houston

Atlanta/TB doesn't really matter because a TB win pushes Atlanta in front of Detroit due to SoS and an Atlanta win pushes TB in front of Detroit due to record

I don't think Carolina losing to NO matters because that game will raise Carolina's SoS

Pick 6

Worst case scenario if the Lions win:

Miami beats Buffalo
Dallas beats NY Giants
Houston beats Jacksonville

Atlanta/TB shouldn't matter again

Pick 9

Best case scenario if the Lions lose:

SF beats LA Rams (should raise their SoS enough)
NY Jets beat New England (same as above)
Oakland beats KC

Pick 2

Worst case scenario if the Lions lose:

LA Rams beat SF
New England beats NY Jets
KC beats Oakland

Pick 5

There may be more intricacies to the SoS that complicates things, but just based on week 17 opponent I would say the Lions are going to finish with an SoS below everyone around them besides Atlanta.

Lot more at stake because of the way the draft works. At present Detroit is picking 9 in round 2.

Allen kinda worries me. I keep reading on other sites that he's too small and doesn't play the run well. Gets to the QB tho. Was he used sparily in college? Like 3rd down specialist? Hopefull i'm exaggerating....

Kentucky played him in coverage a bit ....I know that. He’s super athletic....but probably would struggle against the run some at first.

What I like about him though, is he could actually play as an OLB and be damn good....then drop down and rush the passer when needed....and do that really well to. Kinda like an early version of Justin Houston.

Our 3rd round pick from Philly could get worse if Philly hold their lead and Minny loses to Chicago.

2nd round pick is now 12th and 3rd round is now minimum 21st. The day did not go very well for us.
