Lions 2019 Draft

Just found out the raiders won and saw the league standings... thought for a second damn.. we could be in the 2 spot at the end of all this. So i look at who the teams play...sf has the rams. Raiders have kc. Jets have new England lol. Ya we will pick 5 or more :/

Are those 3 teams all playing for something, or is there a chance they will rest starters?

Bears could clinch playoff bye with win over Vikes and Rams loss.

Chiefs playing for Div championship and bye/HFA throughout playoffs over Chargers.

Patriots playing for first round bye over a couple AFC teams in first.

Well, I think the odds may strike and ONE of those three will lose. It's the NFL, you never know. So, as long as the Lions hold up their end of the bargain, I bet they end up 4th. Which would be fantastic. Winning would be the worst thing they could do.

Best case scenario if the Lions win:

Buffalo beats Miami
NY Giants beat Dallas
Jacksonville beats Houston

Atlanta/TB doesn't really matter because a TB win pushes Atlanta in front of Detroit due to SoS and an Atlanta win pushes TB in front of Detroit due to record

I don't think Carolina losing to NO matters because that game will raise Carolina's SoS

Worst case scenario if the Lions win:

Miami beats Buffalo
Dallas beats NY Giants
Houston beats Jacksonville

Atlanta/TB shouldn't matter again

Pick 9


Best case scenario if the Lions lose:

SF beats LA Rams (should raise their SoS enough)
NY Jets beat New England (same as above)
Oakland beats KC

Pick 2


Worst case scenario if the Lions lose:

LA Rams beat SF
New England beats NY Jets
KC beats Oakland

Pick 5


There may be more intricacies to the SoS that complicates things, but just based on week 17 opponent I would say the Lions are going to finish with an SoS below everyone around them besides Atlanta.
 
A trio of Clemson players have failed drug tests ahead of the College Football Playoff.
The most notable of the group is defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, who has been projected by many as a first round pick in the 2019 NFL draft.
While any incident like this could hurt a player?s draft stock, it should be noted that Clemson coach Dabo Swinney is standing firmly behind his players and denying they used any performance enhancing substances, ?saying the test results revealed ?a sliver, a trace, a fraction? of a drug he?d never heard of before.?
We should know more details soon, but teams will surely be asking Lawrence about this at the combine.

This is awesome. I'll go into next weekend fully expecting to pick at 9 now... then i get to be pleasantly surprised with anything less.
