Lions ask to talk to Wisenhunt

I doubt he was distracted.

I haven't seen management turning there guy down for an interview in quite some time.

Doubt he was distracted? The Chargers offense looked unprepared the entire 1st half. The fact that their offensive coordinator was doing interviews during the week had nothing to do with that?

Is everyone on board with a Whisenhunt hire? Or will there be complainers?

I'm sure he'll be better than Schwartz, but I'm not jumping up and down with joy if he's our guy. The entire pool of realistic candidates where kinda "meh", but he's probably the best of that bunch. I still want that coach who puts us over the top, but if he can just get us back to being respected and annually making for the playoffs, I'm good with that for a while.

i think it was Dave Birkett that said it, but the game planning was done by Wed, so interviews starting on Thu did not get in the way of any game planning. Chargers looking unprepared might be because they played the best team in the AFC when they were coming off of a bye week. i think that has more to do with it than interviews.

So you have proof that was the reason? How about other games where they looked lost in the first half. You're just making a assumption. One games means nothing..

It was a team in their division, Chargers know that opponent.

To me it looked like they had a game plan to try and control the clock, to keep the ball away from manning.

Broncos did a great job taking long time consuming drives didn't give the chargers much opportunity.

Does the game plan not working fall on the OC? Head coach? Or players?

poor game plan would fall on the coaches... but the sheer lack of execution that was displayed on the field falls on the players, since you know... the coaches aren't out there throwing, catching of running.

but that's just how i see it.

Brewer is right, they had a plan and it just didn't work. And those long drives by Denver was like a big slap in the face..they score more than anyone and have 7 minute drives..and Denver's defense was stout early on..

It would make sense if he went to Tenn..we're all used to getting shit on.

So great.... And now he probably won't come to the cursed franchise...

Just to clear this up, looks like these reports are false

http://sidelionreport.com/2014/01/13/report-ken-whisenhunt-san-diego-meeting-teams-today/

Whisenhunt went back to SD after the loss for the end-of-season team meetings.

i thought I read somewhere we sent people to meet him in san diego on Monday. Sending a plane for him on tue would make sense if they made the hire so they can do the introduction etc. Probably relies on everything going well today. Id we don't have a coach by tomorrow id start to be worried for the people hoping for whiz.

Well there ya have it, whiz chooses tenn lions fucked now

Whisenhunt to Titans; Jim Caldwell emerges w Lions. Mike Munchak still alive with Detroit & Cleveland, sources via @AdamSchefter & @mortreport

that blows

Yeah it does thems are both terrible choices

None of us are in love with any of these candidates so it's hard to be disappointed when they choose elsewhere. I think Wisenhunt has ties to Tennessee...he went to Vandy.

Fuck it, bring Schwartz back and try again next year. Actually go with a up and coming coordinator cause the other former head coaches blow.
