Lions ask to talk to Wisenhunt

They have $38 M in cap space.

I didn't know he was hired as their GM. Who makes a decision on where to coach based on cap space. What about all our talent? Dream job? Hahahahahhahahahahahahah.

It looks like most of the "hot" coaching cantidates didn't even consider the Lions. Get ready for Kubiack!

Who said this was anyone's dream job?

Cap space is as important as a lot of other factors.

It could have come down to family? Schools? Money?

You don't know. Assuming it was just the current QB is shortsighted and just plain dumb.

I wouldn't be totally against Kubiak, he's worked with QBs in the past and since the success of this franchise rests solely on Stafford not shitting the bed, they need to get someone in here who can work with him.

Kubiak is also just another coach that plays not to lose instead of playing to win just like the one they just got rid of, he'd be a terrible choice resulting in no better results if not worse...JMO

its time to start a poll on who are 2nd team is going to be that we can root for.

Tony. Cap space, get real. What I'm saying is Stafford's talent isn't swaying anyone here.

Not like there are any good choices out there. Just trying to find ANY positive.

I never thought it was as much of a "dream job" as people claimed. Any coach that comes in will have to work the roster as is, aside from maybe a few minor/cheap pickups to fill in. I'd imagine a head coach would want more to work with than leftovers from the previous regime.

cause hes not that talented. Anyways I think it was more the fact whiz didn't want to run a 4-3. Expect a crap hire with Washburn as the DC. Mayhew is going to run the show....and the show is going to be run into the ground. This will be his final final final nail in his coffin.

Agree on that one, seems like all the good candidates are gone now this is a lousy day all hope is fading away now

Hopefully one day we'll see the franchise swept clean of all Millen trash. The fact that there are still remnants is laughable. Maybe we'll get lucky and the Fords sell this turd.

yup, said it since day 1. Who the hell wants a 7 win team that cant improve much and got beat out by mccown and Flynn? And your stuck with that mess cause your GM put you in cap hell....yet your expected to "win now" that that shitty roster that just lost the division.

Agree with both you guys. Keeping Mayhew and Lewand? What?

Exactly.

And MAYBE he wants a new QB to start with. He knew that wouldn't happen here.

A lot of other factors than just current QB.
