Maybe Gary Moeller, but he/we never got the chance to find out if he would have been any good or not. Before and after him the Lions HCs during the SB era were just like the teams they coached...at best mediocre, at worst absolutely horrible. I am not old enough to remember the Lions teams and their coaching staffs before the AFL/NFL merger.

Bad year for the Lions to be HC-hunting, but perhaps this spares them the humiliation of being rejected by several more truly worthy candidates.

Maybe they should just take a wild stab at someone with a record of at least some success in the college coaching ranks or a relatively unknown NFL assistant HC. Why go with "sameone" who is very likely to be no better if not even worse than Gym Shorts was?
