Lions wanted Ahgolor

McCluster had .6 YPC his last year in KC and 3.3 YPC in Tennessee. And he only had 12 attempts in 2012. He is not on his original team. KC let that bust go. He's not even a real RB.

Best had a great 2011 and was improving. Had turf toe his rookie year for the bad YPC.

Best was a game breaker and difference maker. Huge plays every week, especially in 2011. McCluster is a bust.

Way to cherry pick stats like the troll you are. You got busted hard in this thread. Exposed like Chris Greenwood on a Sunday afternoon.

I didn't get exposed. I showed Best was better. McCluster has sucked since 2012 and he is on a different team.

Best was a great talented player. Huge reason for 2011 playoffs.

I won the argument.

best was just another example of mayhew failing at attempting to fix the run game by picking a high rd rb without fixing a horrid oline first. He literally almost killed the kid. Best did nothing for our run game. Best excelled at screen passes and that's about it. So in the first round...the Detroit lions select a screen pass catcher with a bruised brain. It was dumb...

You've said that twice now, but in this same thread you want to praise Mayhew for Delmas, Fairley, etc. Players who are...*gasp*...no longer on the team. A good troll would hide his hypocrisy better than this.

You're bagging on McCluster's ypc, ignoring his receiving totals, and the best part...in favor of a guy that's out of the league since before my son was born.

McCluster > Best

Longevity > Flash in the pan

They produced for us for many years (3 or more). Fairley, Delmas, Suh, Willie Young, Sammie Lee hill etc

McCluster didn't do much for KC. McCluster is the one without longevity. And KC stunk during those years.

Best did alot for Detroit in 2011. That alone is worth it.

You people are so clueless, it's hysterical.

We addresesd the Oline in 2010 and 2011. Re-signed 2nd rounder Raiola and Peterman in 2009. Peterman played well in 2010 and 2011 (not 2012). traded for Sims for 5th in 2010. Sims played well in 2010-2013. And Backus/Gosder were 1st round picks. Backus was in the middle of his deal from 2006 and Gosder was still on his rookie deal through 2012. 2010 you aren't replacing either of those guys. Mayhew addresssd the Oline just fine. And then in 2012 when players regressed, he addressed it again with Warford and Waddle and Raiola took a pay cut. Mayhew addressed it in 2012 with Reiff too as he saw Gosder's contract and Backus' age. Great job Mayhew.

Best had turf toe in 2010. That is the issue. He was a weapon and big playmaker. 2011 proved how good Best was with health and the Lions playoff appearance. Then bad luck struck against the 49ers.

Best was on pace for 1,100 rushing yards and 830 receiving yards in 2011. He was a monster when healthy.

And the Philly game in 2010 is all you need to know about his health and what he can do.

McCluster had over 2000 total yards as primarily a backup and also contributed well (Pro Bowl) on special teams.

And KC stunk during those years.

2010-2013

KC - 1 divison title and 2 playoff births
Det - 0 division titles and 1 playoff birth

Pot meet kettle.

McCluster's big year was 800 yards total. You're not fooling anyone putting in return yards. McCluster is garbage

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/kan/

AFC West was garbage in 2010. They weren't a good team.

And McCluster was strictly a receiver in 2013. He's not a good RB. 12 carries total. McCluster is Theo Riddick in 2013. And the Chiefs let him walk in free agency to the Titans after that year.

Proof McCluster is garbage.

Lions 2013>Chiefs 2013 and I'd say Lions 2010>Chiefs 2010

And the Chiefs took McCluster in Round 2. When they already had Jamaal Charles. Talk about dumbass.

Hey guys Ross had 1,248 all purpose yards. He's really great.

I never included McCluster's return yards. Nice try.

And that's the point. He's still better than Jahvid Best because he still sees the field, regardless of productivity. You like to live in a fantasy world of true wins, hypotheticals, and what-ifs. I live in the real world. A world in which EVERYONE but you says Best is/was/always will be a bust.

Now while it was fun feeding the resident troll, my much less annoying son is awake from his nap. Don't choke on the blue Kool-Aid buddy.

He never had 2,000 yards in a season. He's been junk at RB since 2012 with little to no carries. He's a bust for KC and they let him walk because of that. It's a fact. He's a Theo Riddick receiver only but as a 2nd round pick.

Best alone in 2011 is worth more than anything that McCluster has done. Best was a game changer, McCluster is nothing.

And the Lions have Adbullah now (rookie deal). And Bush was greater than McCluster. Bush was very good in 2013 and hurt in 2014. Riddick is a good receiving threat.

Mayhew has done a great job building our Oline and run game. Praise to Mayhew for Best. Praise to Mayhew for Bush and now praise to Mayhew for Abdullah. He churns out studs at the right times. Screwed in 2012 from injury news on Best and slower LeShoure from injury. But found a great find in Bell. Praise to Mayhew for Bell.

Talk all the shit you want, but there are a few things here that can't be intelligently argued...

1. Bell has been a solid find for an undrafted free agent.

2. Bush played very well here for a while

3. Best, when he was healthy, put up yards and was very very productive

4. Best should never have been drafted in the 1st round, because his health history said he was doomed.

5. Mayhew will never live down the Youtube comments on Best. And he shouldn't. He never should have said he didn't know who Best was until he saw him on YouTube.

6. The guys Mayhew has brought in showed the talent, but often couldn't make the most of it.

7. Bell is not a great RB, but he is a great find in free agency.

agreed

2. Bush played very well here for a while

had 1 good season

3. Best, when he was healthy, put up yards and was very very productive

agree to disagree. He was a great pass catcher here. He never excelled in the run game.

4. Best should never have been drafted in the 1st round, because his health history said he was doomed.

high 2nd round talent....but with those health concerns we shoulda stayed away. There were too many other concussions headlines at that same time that were blatently ignored.

5. Mayhew will never live down the Youtube comments on Best. And he shouldn't. He never should have said he didn't know who Best was until he saw him on YouTube.

...

6. The guys Mayhew has brought in showed the talent, but often couldn't make the most of it.

Mayhew has tried to find impact guys like best and titus. But hes awful at putting them in positions to be successful. That line was awful....and we put a 5 foot nothing guy behind it with concussion problems. Was not a very well thought out plan.

7. Bell is not a great RB, but he is a great find in free agency

Agreed. Hes a good change of pace guy. We needed a playmaker and im excited to see what Abdullah can do if the line play improves. If the line sucks we could very easily see Best v 2.0.

.6 YPC on 8 carries, great sample size there.

Careers. Yards per offensive touch (ie: Rush attempts and receptions)

McCluster - 2490 Yards on 390 = 6.4 per attempt
Best - 1719 Yards on 340 =5.1 per attempt

Best had the potential (your favorite thing) to be better, but he didn't. 1719 on 340 is not 1st round worthy.

I thought Schwartz made the YouTube comments about Best.

Yes and no.

Schwartz made the comment that some people watch porn on their computers, and he watched Javid Best videos on YouTube. (which in that context, is a bit odd)

Mayhew said he had never heard of Javid Best until Schwartz showed him some of his YouTube videos.

So, yes it was Schwartz who made comments, but not the comments about having never heard of him until that point.

Schwartz was apparently fapping to Best.
