Get StartedI know more about technique game tape and stats than you ever will.
Lol did you ever think I was busy and just saw thus now. Houston is a great technician that can reroute flip his hips and has speed and has a ton of speed to stay with Wr. The numbers back that upin 2011 and 2012. Low quarterback rating and comp percentage and plenty of pds. He is not a gambler and struggled with Atlanta. It is a Damn fact he was good with Detroit 3 of 4 years and last year he had two injuries that hurt his play. I know more about technique game tape and stats than you ever will.
He typically turns his hips too early or too late to adjust to cuts. It was at an all-time low last year as announcers were eating him up for it, oh but that's right, bad luck. Granted his hips are smooth (athleticism) but his technique (adjustment) is poor. He never has or will be a shutdown corner. Granted, in 2006 it appeared he was on his way but it never translated on the field because he is and always has played the man as opposed to the ball. He just isn't that good LKP. It's sad because he was such a gifted athlete that could not get techniques down that could have made him elite.
Your such a homer not to see this.
He sticks in the back picket of receivers and flips well. The times he got beat with a bum hamstring stick out in your mind too much. Look at the overall lions career. He was a bum in Atlanta but three years in Detroit he was a number one cb and produced
you seem to remember his one good year too much and discount his poor play.
2010, 2011 and 2012 were all good by Houston. Three out of four with Detroit and injury problems ( toe and hamstring in 2013)
Were they good in your eyes because the rest of the secondary sucked? So by comparison he was awesome?
We have a number two, at best, playing as a number one. If maybe we had a CB who was more suited to play against the best WR he would look better/done better.
Houston played well in 2010-2012. Fact. Not just compared to the rest of the secondary. He did well stopping number one WRs the majority of games. Atlanta got him good once in 2011 and once in 2012 and playing hurt against Oakland/GB in 2011.
And the Lions were in control of that playoff game until the 3/4ths of the secondary got hurt and the refs screwed us twice in that playoff game (Young fumble and 4th down conversion by Saints block in the back).
But keep remembering it incorrectly. I'm enjoying reminding you what actually happened.
How could you ever enjoy remembering us getting badly beaten by the Saints in the playoffs? The 1st half was good to watch, but after that it was awful! That 4th quarter was a nightmare! Our defense gave up 626 total yards, including 21 points in the last 10 minutes. Lastly, the refs weren't the reason we lost the game. We made plenty of mistakes down the stretch.
With all that said, I hope we can make the playoffs this year and finally win a playoff game!
Refs and secondary injuries were the reason we lost. The refs cost Detroit 14 points with the Durant fumble and the 4th conversion with the Lions down 24-21 and allowed the game to get out of control.
Detroit really won that game.
As long as they really won the game..

Teams don't win games when their defense sets a record for most total yards given up in a playoff game. 626 yards...ridiculous
Our defense didn't take advantage when Drew Brees threw them the ball, so he killed us later and Stafford had to force passes and make mistakes.
Houston got hurt, Delmas on a bum knee and Spievey playing with a concussion. Injuries let Brees have a big second half.
