Lojack signs with Vikes

Mayhew planned ahead. If we didn't have Reiff, we would have had to given up a high pick to move up in this draft. You would have hated that too. Great job by Mayhew. Terrible planning by hughes with Mercilus and Robinson. What a disaster if you were the GM

To be fair the poor planning by Hughes can be narrowed down to the fact that he isn't a professional gm making millions with dozens of scouts. What's MM excuse for sucking?

I have to admit the planning for the future argument is infallible. If a guy can't crack the roster on a 4-12 team, it's planning for the future.

Nothing wrong with having Backus and Gosder play ahead of you. They played well last year. And did you ever think maybe just maybe the Lions thought having Reiff as an extra tackle was more valuable than playing him at guard. Reiff at guard you can't have the extra tackle.

Reiff and Broyles can play well. Be thankful they are on the team.

Mayhew hasn't sucked. Only the people who have no clue thinks he sucks.

It's my thanksgiving prayer.

I blame it on four years of bad drafts.

4 Good drafts. Some injuries and good players under performed. Stafford for one. He can turn it around and when he does the Lions will back to double digit wins.

yup lol. pet peave when ppl come on here once a month calling other ppl names and dont provide any insight. Shows their ignorance and i call them out on it.

don't need to provide insight, your a fuckin idiot, nuff said. I'll come back next month and say the same thing fucktard

i thought pettigrew was drafted to be "the extra tackle." So now we have 2 extras tackles on the field and our run game still blows? lol. Even when we make good picks that could potentially contribute we dont use them. If mayhew came out tomorrow and provided a story of how he was trying to get fired the last couple years so he could collect unemployment i wouldnt be surprised one bit lol.

or are too uneducated to provide any insight. Im surprised you figured out how to get a username and password. Its cool....im sure the dishes you wash are very clean.

Mercilus would have been 3 times as good as kvb last year....just sayin ^^

So you are saying we should have cut KVB last year with that massive cap hit. Also he was a leader on the defense and had played well just the season before. Then you draft a rookie late first round and say he is all of this and will be better, when he isnt the best person available on your board...thats just brilliant.

lmao....when did i say any of that? how do you guys keep comming up with this crap? LKP likes to poke fun at me that i MOCKED Mercilus to us PRIOR to the draft. All i said is my MOCK selection would of outperformed KVB and his bum ass. My dead grandma is another person that would have outperformed kvb's bum ass. Mayhew if youre reading this youtube my dead grandma.

Agreed on that but we would have been pretty freaking screwed at tackle right now and Reiff was BPA and the right choice. I'll take Reiff/Ansah all day ever day with how it played out.

And Pettigrew is not just an extra tackle. He's a valuable receiver in the short and intermediate.

And going into last year, KVB wasn't THAT bad. He was average in 2011. KVB was old but that much decline from ALL 4 DEs was pretty ridiculous. And to me that's not on Mayhew with how ridiculous it was. Avril should have done what he did in 2010/2011 at least, same with Jackson. Based on 2 years of play, thinking they would be average and below average was shocking. Young's decline after a good 2011 was also quite shocking. KVB you could maybe see with age, but the other 3 was on the players, not Mayhew based on past performances. And Mayhew was at least smart enough to replace 3 of them this year. He learns quickly(one year). See character drafts the last 2 years after 2011(sans Ronnel Lewis who apolgized by the way) and getting a Best repalcement/DE replacements quickly this year.

coupled with doing virtually nothing in fa for years

Nothing in FA?? Mayhew has made a ton of moves and has brought in quality starters. Again, you think a guy like Barry Sanders or Ray Lewis in his prime is coming to the Lions. Newsflash....that shit dont happen.

You're reaching now....

Stafford, Pettigrew, Delmas, Levy, SLH all wins
Suh and Best short term and Willie Young
Fairley, LeShoure wins.
Reiff, Broyles, Bentley,Green wins
Ansah,Slay,Warford,Taylor seems pretty good

Sims, Shaun Hill, Corey Williams, Scheffler, Lo Jack in trades

Houston in a trade and re-signed twice, Delmas re-signed, Hil re-signed, Levy re-signed

Tulloch and Tullch re-signed, Durant, KVB(2 years), Burleson, Quin, Bush ,Jones. These are all wins as well.

Calvin re-signed

The good and great far outweigh the bad of unfortunate injuries(Best, Delmas, Bentley, Stafford early) and Derrick Williams and Titus Young's insanity.

a ton? kvb, nate, tulloch, durant and eric wright are the only names i can think of prior to this off season that were worth a darn. And by worth i darn i mean kvb durant and wright are gone already...nate is old and took less money to stay and tulloch shopped himself and got nothing in return. Sooo....ya imo hes done nothing in FA.

Ok lets look at what MM has done since being here. Turned Roy Williams into Brandon Pettigrew and Derrick Williams. But more importantly got his contract off the books since DW sucked and Pettigrew is better than RW and still has the ability to be very good. Right off the bat first draft he got Stafford, Grew and Delmas and levy. four starters all respected at their positions. Staff early injuries but since has been a stud. Grew inconsistent hands but has showed excellent ability. Delmas league wide respected skill but has struggled with injuries hopefully he stays healthy this year but who knows. Levy is average at his position. Has been inconsistent but I wouldnt have resigned him over Durant. Then he brings in KVB and Burleson. veteran leaders who were big contributors. then drafted Suh who is a big win and Best who looked good early and now cant play. Unlucky and gambles that could have paid off. Then he gets Tulloch and Durant who everyone agreed it was one or the other but not both. So he gets both and gets two years out of Durant and Tulloch is going to be here for a while. Then he gambles a bit with Fairly who has shown great upside and this year needs to put a whole season together. Leshoure and Titus. Leshoure with out the injury as a rookie may have been better these past two year and titus is nuts. So far that didnt pay off. Didnt do enought in FA at this time thought his team was better than it was I think we all knew that was a mistake but such is life. Then drafts Reiff and Broyles upside that will eventually pay off hopefully this year. This draft had some upside picks guys like T. Lewish and T. Whitehead. Idk if they will ever bring anything or not but such is life that late in the draft. It was also a draft that didnt have much late in it. This year he killed FA with some huge signings for this team and I think he did well in the draft with at least 4 starters. Ansah, Slay, Warford, and Martin. So he is trying to build a team but we have been in cap hell since before he came here. We had no reason for FA's to come here and he has helped to change the culture. Schwartz and Co. need to deliver this year or they need to be gone.

I alson forgot about Shaun Hill who is a good backup and has had to come in and play and done well. This is a forgotten pickup but an important one.

Dude they won 4 games. And quit using Bentley and Green as a win. They blow.
