It flatly amazes me that it took the Lions this long to have such a DB.
Reason #512 I think our team is run by people with no clue what they are doing.

Not sure if this is posted anywhere in this thread, so here it is.
Suhs exit interview

I like this team, but I like tens of millions of dollars more.
Yeah.. no shit. I would too.
I'm a life long Lions fan. It would have been a DREAM for me to play for the Lions. But for $12MM extra bucks... It would have been a DREAM for me to play in Miami.
It's easy for people who would kill themselves to play on a minimum deal to criticize chasing millions of dollars, but in all reality, and of us would have.
Miami lost to the Lions by 4 points at Ford Field. They aren't that bad of a team. Didn't they almost beat GB too? Suh might put them over the top. I doubt it, but it's possible. And yeah, Tannehill> Stafford
The question is more about them keeping their talent in 2016 when Suh's cap number jumps to 2018.
Just two weeks ago you were talking about how we could make it work with Suh's cap number along with Calvin and Stafford. Matter of fact you were saying we would have PLENTY of cap room to franchise him. Now you're questioning if Miami can keep their talent? What sense are you making brotha?
We could make it work. Miami is tight now and have to pay Tannehill among others. Lions have a more complete team than Miami already too. Lions also wouldn't have given Suh a 28 million year 2 cap number like Miami did.
$28mil cap hit year two was smart by Miami. Get his guaranteed dollars out the way early. They're not a proven NE or GB organization so I'm not sure if they will make it work. But I will say, if Lions could of made it work, Miami could too.
Miami traded Wallace, traded Ellerbe and cut Wheeler/Finnegan. It's already a purge and Suh's year 1 cap hit is only 6 million.
Wallace didn't work out. He was a cancer there. Probably gone with or w/o Suh.
Ellerbe brought in Kenny Stills. Are you really questioning that decision?
Finnegan is retired.
But you're right, when you sign a player of Suh's caliber, you're going to have to sacrifice. Just like the Lions would of done. Nobody is questioning that. Miami made a splashy signing with Suh now pressure is on management to make it work. Just like it would of been in Detroit.
