MSU pres. Resigns

John Engler, named MSU interim president.

yikes.

come on Sparty

*shakes head*

Yeah, I read the article. It talks about wanting an outsider and then they bring in 2 MSU graduates, Engler and Blanchard. Kind of a mixed message.

Yeah that reminds me. Mumphrey, banned from campus due to title IX, then brought back on campus for a football camp. Now I remember. Thanks.

as usual, this is inaccurate.

Mumphrey was accused of assaulting a student that he met on Tinder in a dorm room on March 17th 2015, he worked out for NFL representatives the next day. He wasn't banned from campus until June 7th, which shows the innacuracy of your statement.

The prosecutor declined to press charges due to the fact the case could not be proven without reasonable doubt and the accuser didn't return contact from the prosecutors office. The title IX process led to him being banned from the university for 2+ years.

Such horseshot. If Msu has nothing to hide open everything up and come clean. Funny espn keeps showing the piece and msu does nothing to try and stop it. I could care less but this blind loyalty is ridicules. If anyone associated with Michigan did anything like this (If proven true) I would want everyone freaking fired period. It sounds like msu fans on here just want the status quo to continue like they have been . Maybe the espn piece is irresponsible like some have said if so prove it and sue the fuck out of them .

Yeah, Bob. We go back to the most recent Izzo interview, the 3rd bad interview he's given lately, where he claims, "To be honest, I don't remember why Walton left..." A guy that was living in his basement at the time. Then he goes on to say that he will cooperate with any investigation, that they've always cooperated, even though, it's common knowledge they did everything they could to block information from going to ESPN. Yep, that sure is complete cooperation, complete transparency.

He was brought back to work a football camp for kids. The information is all out there. I'm not making it up. I wasn't referring to his workout with NFL reps.

Austin Robertson, the one who had rape allegations in high school. Dantonio blew it off, brought him on board anyway, and then Robertson raped a woman. Strangely, enough, the story doesn't stop there as he was allegedly the one that went in and rescued the woman getting gang raped by the other 3. Then there was the pack of football players that went out to hunt him down. Then he gets thrown off the team for raping some other woman...all credibility destroyed. A lot seems fishy there. Of course, I'm piecing things together from here and there. Robertson and Blackwell were quickly named the scapegoats to the whole incident. Ruins their credibility and gets rid of them at the same time. Convenient.

as usual, this is inaccurate

Auston Robertson was accused of inappropriately touching a classmate in high school, that was not a rape allegation. Dantonio did not blow it off, Robertson wasn't able to sign his letter of intent on signing day and had to stay out of trouble and meet requirements. He ended up not signing with MSU for months later, after he went on recruiting visits to other schools.

Where are you getting this info about a pack of football players going to hunt them down? Mgoblog?

Blackwell was not a scapegoat, he failed to report this properly and was let go. The people who were responsible were Corley, King, and Vance. Keep in mind that they are innocent until proven guilty, you make the assumption that a gang rape occurred, that's yet to be determined. You should know that it's far from certain that they did anything criminal. What they are accused of could be different than what happened. They have been insistent that there's a video that will show that it was consensual.

It seems like you have inaccuracies in almost every post about these incidents.

What was the camp? there is usually a kids camp at the spring game that's usually in April. That still doesn't match your timeline

again, this is inaccurate

Walton supposedly lived with Izzo for only a few months in late 2009 early 2010. That does not coincide with the time frame of the alleged bar incident.

Also, Izzo said that he didn't know exactly why he left, there could be a multitude of reasons. He did leave to go play in Europe, you'd think that he'd rather go play pro basketball overseas for money vs being an unpaid grad assistant at MSU.

What MSU tried to block was the release of names of players who were accused, but not charged. I'm sure if you thought about it for a second, or if it were Michigan players in the same situation, you'd realize why you don't release the names of people who are simply accused and then later cleared or don't have charges pressed against them.

Those are some long names.

The level of detailed knowledge of the situation is incredible. It's almost as if there are some with firsthand knowledge or involvement at some level to have such certainty and assertion.

Wouldn't be the first time for this board.

you tried to make this same argument 6 months ago. back then you also conveniently left out the fact that Harbaugh didn't rescind his offer to Robertson. neither did OSU, PSU, ND, TN, Miami, Nebraska, etc, etc.

And Robertson wasn't thr scapegoat (people don't actually get name as the scapegoat). There was no scapegoat - he, Blackwell and all 3 players involved involved in the assault we're kicked off the team and kicked out of school.

you said yourself you'd want then fired "if proven true" then criticized us for waiting for proof before jumping to conclusions.

How can MSU stop ESPN from doing anything? we're not Alabama. what a bizarre thing to say.

so apparently there was never any title IX investigation into the alleged rape claim against Travis Walton and 2 basketball players with an alleged victim. Seems that might be a problem.

ESPN wasn't the investigating body - they are under no obligation to "cooperate" with Bob Ley, Jeremy Schaap or even Jamele Hill. Nor are they obligated to disclose anything through ESPN. the idea that they kept anything from ESPN indicates a lack of transparency is ridiculous. the school could have handled the reporting better but you guys going on about them not disclosing sensitive information to an entertainment company that's obviously not reporting fairly and accurately says a lot about your own objectivity.

There weren't the same standards for title 9 in 2010 vs now. From my understanding, the woman's family came to Hollis but didn't want it in investigated, they waited 15 months and didn't go to the police. There's two sides to the story, she says she was gang raped, Walton said that he had an ongoing relationship with her. That doesn't mean that she wasn't raped, but there are two sides.

I assume that Izzo and Hollis didn't tell the police because it was the desire of the family.

Bob just wants to see the program go down because he thinks they might win an extra football game from time to time. It couldn't be more obvious, the way he makes assumptions and how his posts have a ton of factual errors (all slanted toward making MD and TI look worse).

BTW I WILL bet you right now Michigan crushes msu at east Lansing next year with it without your saint of a coach.

What are you talking about . I have never once Said this. Find it in any if these post where I said I want my msu to go down?. This is factual just incorrect. I have never once said I want either Mark or Tom to lose their jobs unless they are covering anything up... You two clowns are so funny how you are defending Sexual abuse and battery cover ups . Oh I mean littering charges.
Because we know EVERY SINGLE CHARGE was handled on the up and up by msu...

Here. I will say it again . IF MSU THINKS THE ESPN REPORT IS factually incorrect they should Sue ESPN to get it stopped. How hard it that to understand? I hope both are clean and are not in trouble unlike your AD and President who both bailed out .. You can't hide behind its public opinion. There is more to it then that. I hope Tom and Mark show everything they have in all the cases ..if they have nothing to hide then both are fine.
