My way too early yardage prediction thread

right...it was a choke job. Stafford and Bush are still on the team...I expect the Lions to choke away at least 2 games this season. That would be down from 4 last season.

Nope new staff. And at Carolina and at Zona can be won to make up for choke jobs. Or even at Chicago where we won last year.

Unfortunately, you have no idea how this new coaching staff will do. For all we know, they could be in over their head and lay an absolute egg next year. The Lions franchise is a graveyard for coaches.

well, you assume that the new coaching staff can change some of the old bad habits but we don't know that yet. Stafford and Bush could continue to turn the ball over and the defense may continue to have mental breakdowns and give up huge plays.

19 picks and 15 fumbles lost. Just not happening again. New staff or not. I'd say the same thing if Linehan was back.

well, Stafford has averaged 1.2 picks per game since he has been in the NFL so if he plays 16 games he should have 19 INTs.

It's nice to have an established coach in Caldwell though. None of these hotshot co-ordinators. Someone who has actually been there and done that.

yeah... We had Belicheck at one time too

You might have left out some guy named Peyton Manning too.

This is the problem I have..lkp had brought it up several times. Mannings INT went down after Caldwell got there. Was it him or just Manning getting more experience..but my problem is that Caldwell was the OC not the coach.

Some here think he's going to work with Stafford to fix his problems but HC have other jobs. They have the whole team to worry about.

Plus when Caldwell did become HC at Indy, the INT went back up. I doubt, whether Stafford improves or stays the same, it has anything to do with Caldwell.

Caldwell was qb coach and manning said himself Caldwell had a huge part. Ignoring that is just being a hater. And Lombardi and cooter should help too. Plus better healthier weapons. It's not just Caldwell why he can reduce picks and raise comp percentage

And experience helps stafford too. Since he missed most of 2010, he is on the same games played time table as manning

Caldwell did a great job with Manning and others. He deserves credit for sure.
Stafford should have a great year. Footwork can be fixed in short order
